A/N: Some tunes for you to listen to as you read this. I didn't exactly write the story with the songs in mind so don't expect them to fit. But I think they work for setting the mood or something? idk.

Also, I haven't proofread this so you've been warned.

It was currently 3 PM.

3 hours had passed since I found out the meaning behind those markings.

Turmoil was once again coming into my blank life.

I made a list of the issues that I knew of in my head.

Sakura's condition: unknown

Haruka said she would try to contact Sakura, but it had been over 3 days and I had no news about her.

Karuizawa's condition: malnourished, dehydrated, and scared

Karuizawa was starving due to a lack of proper nutrients and she was dehydrated because of the cup noodles. It was her only food source, but it was a double-edged sword. She was likely scared, but eventually, she would become too tired to worry.

Ryūen's condition: possibly in danger

Ryūen's door had been marked. This wasn't good news for either of us.

The zombies were vulnerable to light, specifically UV light. Thus, the sun posed a significant danger to them.

The zombies, like humans, at least needed two things: food and shelter.

Shelter

They needed shelter during the day.

If my neighbors' houses get turned into zombie territory then it wouldn't be very suitable for me to live here anymore.

I would become sandwiched by zombies.

I didn't know when the zombies would attack, but at the very least it could be tonight.

I looked around the house for any weapons. I already did this before, but I decided to do it again.

Same result, just some cooking knives. If I ripped off one of the desk legs I could have a metal pole. Unfortunately, I didn't have a screwdriver so I couldn't remove it.

I did have some weapons in the car.

The tranquilizer gun and some stun batons.

A/N: Some of you readers might realize that I never said Ayano took the stun batons. Well in my planning document I wrote that he did and I planned for him to have, but I forgot to write it in the actual chapter. So let's just pretend he did take them because it wouldn't make sense if he didn't. : )

The stun batons were also tasers so if the zombies had a functioning nervous system, which they must have, then they should be effective on them.

Right now was the best time to go back outside and get them.

I readied a duffle bag and made my way to the door.

I opened my door and stepped out, but there was an untimely coincidence.

I was closing my door when my neighbor also opened their door.

He looked right at me before letting out a small 'kuku'.

He turned his head and started inspecting his door.

"What are they? Cats? Scratching at my door. Those stupid hairless monkeys."

He didn't seem to be affected by the situation, or he was just putting on a front.

I didn't want to stand idly by just watching him so I made my way to the parking garage.
