"What?!"
After the chaotic party at the park last night which lasted until 3 in the morning where I think half of us got drunk. Bobbie and I drove them to where they were staying temporarily, and after exactly 3 hours after I fixed myself, changed clothing and laid down to rest, my brother suddenly texted me to go to his house.
I was enjoying the cup of coffee he had prepared when he calmly blurted out "Ah, oo nga pala, next weekend kung di ka busy, tulungan mo 'kong iset yung lugar para sa pagpropose ko kay Ysa." while still holding the morning paper as if what he told me was something that happens everyday.
"Bigla yan? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA"
And he even had the audacity to laugh at my reaction. Tsk.
"You act as if this isn't something to be surprised about. Congrats bro! Sure, I don't have any seminar or training to attend by then anyway."
"Good."
I finished my cup of coffee and placed it on the table in the middle of his living room. The sun was already up and its light was already seeping through the windows. I grabbed a piece of toasted bread and bit, only for me tochoke on it because of my brother's abrupt question.
"How's your love life?"
He pushed a glass of water towards me while laughing. I later recovered and answered his question with a glare first before speaking. "My love life is as calm as it can be."
"That's like lowkey saying it's not active."
"Because it isn't. And I like it that way."
He rolled his eyes and focused again on the morning paper in his hands.
I didn't say anything wrong. I just like the way it is right now. Plus, just because he's going to be engaged doesn't mean I need to follow that almost immediately. I need to make sure I'm financially stable first before entering that stage, and for him, well he's already financially stable and everything.
I finished the toasted bread I was eating earlier before I choked and spent a few more minutes at my brother's house just to annoy him, and at exactly 7:15, I left his house and went home to mine.
I remembered that I made a reservation at Shakey's this afternoon, but aside from that, I didn;t have anything going on. But since it was going to be exam week again, I had to position myself in front of my laptop and get started on my students' test questions. It wa sjust going to be fifty items and I was almost done in discussing my lesson anyway.
"Wait, I haven't given the 30 item quiz on the other Grade 10 section. Gah." I facepalmed as I remembered that due to the class being incomplete because of some other school activities, I couldn't give their quiz. But the second I looked at the calendar of activities plastered on the wall, I realized that on Monday, they were going to be complete. I decided to just have the quiz on Tuesday for them to still have time to review.
Only for me to realize later that I was in a group chat with them and I could already remind them today.
With that, I grabbed my phone from the side of my laptop and unlocked it and looked for the group chat with my Grade 10 students.
GRADE 10 CLASS 2
ME: Good Morning students. Happy weekend. I would just like to remind everyone that there will be a 30 item quiz to be held on Tuesday. That will cover the lessons discussed starting last week until this week. Good luck. If you have any questions, reply to this message directly or if you are not comfortable messaging here, you can always send me a private message or wait for Monday and ask me personally. Thank you.
