"You sure do look exhausted-OW!"

I greeted her at the exit without thinking I'd receive a kick out of nowhere.

I put a hand on the hood of my car as my eyes shut because of the pain from her kick. "Teka- HALA DEVIN IKAW BA YAN?" I heard her ask before I felt her come closer. "Y-yeah, it's me." I said after I recovered from the sudden impact brought by her leg. "I had no idea you could kick like that." I added while my other hand was still on my stomach. "Nako, sorry talaga! Bakit kasi nanggugulat ka? Tsaka gabi na ah, sabi mo kanina aalis ka agad kasi nga may pasok ka pa bukas. Pero sorry talaga, ano, busog ka ba? Sobrang sakit? Teka tatawag na 'ko ng ambulansya."

The moment my eyes landed on her as the pain I felt was slowly disappearing, I saw her frantically searching for her phone maybe in her bag. "Shh, calm down. No ambulance needed." I stated and tried my best to stand up straight and even fixed my tie and flashed her a small smile.

"Sigurado ka ba? Buti na lang pala nagpalit na 'ko ng sapatos at hindi na naka heels."

Worry was still evident on her face but I tried reassuring her that it was fine. Even though it still feels a bit fresh.

"Bakit nga pala andito ka pa?" She asked again. "Ah, well, my brother made me stay for a while longer. I was actually about to walk to my car when I heard your staff greeting you, so I waited for you here." I answered honestly.

She nodded after she heard my answer and noticed how exhausted she really looked, I even noticed her eyes looking a bit watery. But I didn't want to ask her anything since that may come off on the wrong end, so I chose to remain quiet about it.

"So, hihintayin mo pa kapatid mo?" She suddenly asked. I grabbed my car keys from my pockets and answered her question with a no. My brother was enjoying and he doesn't want to come home just yet anyway. "Ahh, okay. Sige, una na 'ko. Sorry talaga. Sure kang okay ka lang?" She asked once again.

I nodded and even gave her a full smile this time just to reassure her. She laughed at my action and I couldn't help but laugh along. Silence wrapped the both of us later on and she was about to walk away when I called out to her once again.

"Wait, you're going home as well? Do you want me to drive you there like last time?"

She looked surprised which made me blush a bit and close my eyes as I looked down because I felt embarassed. I just thought that it was the right thing to do but maybe I did shock her. We haven't even known each other for long. "Ihahatid mo ulit ako? Sigurado k- Huy, namumula ka ba?"

Now I was the one who was surprised. I didn't even hear her footsteps as she went back to her place a while ago, also known as where she stood before she walked away. And that was right in front of me. Her face was a few inches away and that made me blush even more, which again, made me close my eyes as I stepped back to create more distance between us.

I heard her laugh but I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes, not when I can still feel heat in my cheeks.

"Luh, Devin naano ka?" She asked again. This time, I knew she just stepped forward which again, closed the distance between us.

"N-nothing." I tried not to stutter but failed.

A few moments later, I felt the heat in my cheeks slowly disappear and I opened my eyes once again and fixed my stance as if nothing happened. "Ang cute mo naman mahiya, Sir Devin."

She was teasing, but again I tried my best not to be affected. I already embarassed myself enough. "So, uhm, do you want me to drive you home or-"
