The Levels of Xarnia, Error

Part 10

I stared at Jacob. He was so pale that he looked like he was a ghost. His hair was seared off and how clothes...were absent. I ignored the fact for now and took out a medical kit. I searched what I might be able to use to heal him when an alarm went off. Jacob coughed and started speaking, "Kai...you can't get to level 10...you just can't..."

I stared in awe at him. How did he know this information? Was it even right? The alarm kept blaring and I heard rushing of footsteps. I got up with my katana ready. "Sorry Jacob..." I barely mumbled. I felt my eyes wettening as I ran out of the white room, hoping to protect my two friends.

Outside was more white. I was in the middle of a put white hallway. I turned left to see a dead end a few feet and turned the other way to see an army of soldiers. Each one identical, white uniform, white helmet, white boots and even white guns. They all aimed at me and I readied my weapon. "Looks like we got a fight!" I shouted with confidence even though I was scared to death.

The soldiers kept running until they were a yard away from me. Their weapons all white and shiny aiming only at me. I sighed and tried to show I had confidence, "Well? What are you gonna do?"

One of the soldiers walked over to me and pressed the gun into my chest and commanded, "You are about to lose your memory of this place like the other times you have."

In an instant as he ended his order I kicked him in the between area of his legs. He screamed and dropped down and I jumped down and used him as a human shield as they started shooting. I managed to set my katana down and grab a gun. I felt the weird bullets entering my human shield's body. I examined the gun closely and read the label on it, XMW.

I sighed and took the gun above the human shield and shot randomly. Soon the amount of shots from the soldiers died down and when it ended I peaked over the shield to see all of them gone. I looked around than felt something strange.

I didn't feel my human shield in hand any more.

I looked down to see him gone. How the hell did this happen? The alarms which I hadn't notice were still running, decided to die down. I than heard footsteps walking towards me and looked at its source.

A woman was walking down the hall. She was in a black dress and her silky hair was flowing behind her. Her glasses showed her amber eyes. Somehow in some way I knew her. Than it hit me as she started talking with her impressed smile, "Well done Kai. I see you are ready for the real game."

I growled inhumanly, "Ion..."

She nodded, obviously pleased. She snapped her fingers and turned around, "We have much work ahead of us Kai. Come." she started walking back the way she came, but I didn't move an inch. When she realized this she sighed and spoke, "Your two friends can be healed it you obey."

I took in a huge breath and marched over to her. She smirked a devious one and continued walking. I followed her, not sure whether I should be scared or strong. At least I still had the XMW. So with confidence I held the gun ready as I followed.

I woke up on the floor of some weird white material. I got up and looked around. In the corner of the room I saw a well sized stone. I walked over to it slowly and saw an inscription on it. My eyes widened as I read it, R.I.P. Jacob.
