ˏˋ°•*⁀➷MAEVIS SENA SONG
📍PHILADELPHIA, PA.
March 22st, 2021UNLIKE HER SISTER, MAEVIS SENA SONG WAS ALWAYS WRONG. She found it peculiar at first, considering the both of them grew up in the same house with the same things. Maybe it was the fact that Rhea Song had some special sixth sense that gave her the ability to be right, but Maevis was always so unbelievably wrong.
Maevis always rooted for the wrong couples, always picked the wrong bubble in a multiple choice question she didn't know the answer to, and always called "bullshit" during the wrong times during that card game. This time, Maevis prayed that her pattern of being wrong continued with the suspicion that her boyfriend had been seeing her best friend.
Considerably, Rhea did warn her about Ben. Month two of their relationship, Rhea could sense the unloyalty by just the way he strutted. Somehow still didn't halt Maevis from moving in with him during month ten. Maybe Maevis should have just listened to her older sister because of some bullshit on how family knows best, but she was still unsure. Maevis could have just been overthinking, as she always is. Worst case scenario? Ben is, in fact, cheating on her and she loses both Lydia and Ben. Best case scenario? She's seen too many rom-coms.
But there was the fact that Rhea Song was always right, and she was always wrong. And they never knew which curse or blessing would come on top. Maevis might learn something new today-- and she desperately hoped it was the fact she was always wrong was the curse that'd come up on top.
Before she should uncover that secret, she would first have to get through a three hour plane ride.
Maevis was always a fan of travelling, whether it was to the grocery store to a city she's never heard of before. Thousands of people with different lives, different cultures, different backgrounds and somehow they ended up in this airport at the same time. She always imagined what their lives were like outside of an airplane seat. She's made a few memorable single-serving friends, as she called them. People you talk to one day and never see again. And you never know what happens to them. They're just an extra in your movie, but they could be the knight in shining armor in someone else's. Sometimes she finds herself thinking about Keri from Flight 142 or Emilia from Flight 893.
"Sonder," her sister explained. "The realization that a stranger has a life as complex as you. It's neat, huh?"
Maevis sits leaning against her chair, flipping through the limited selection of movies her economy seat offered. With enough scrolling, she settles on a romantic comedy as per usual. The nearly two hour long flick had kept her occupied for a good two thirds of the flight, but Maevis still had an hour left before touching Philadelphian soil once again. Maevis drums her fingertips on the seat, wondering what she could do in an hour to pass time by. She scans the plane, seeing people either asleep or working on something. Maevis heaves a sigh before scrolling back to the movie options.
