MAEVIS SENA SONG HAD ALWAYS DREAMT OF KISSING SOMEONE IN THE RAIN. The idea of it just seemed so... magical. Nature itself is against you in one way or another, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is you and your lover. You're in your own little bubble, your own world. It's you and them against the world.
Maevis liked the sound of that: just you, your lover, and the steady downpour from the clouds that taints your bare skin. She thought the intimacy was well worth the soaked clothing or the drenched hair. I mean, she learnt the hard way that there's a price to pay for everything.
This fantasy might have been due to the fact that Maevis suffers from what her older sister calls the romantic comedy syndrome, or the phenomenon that when you've watched one too many rom-coms, you begin to wish for those only-in-the-movies things, whether it be kisses in the rain or love at first sight. And if you're curious, Maevis Song has watched over five hundred romantic comedies in her lifetime.
Rhea Song was probably right about that, as she is about everything. Rhea Hae Song grew up with every answer of hers with a bright red check mark next to them. She doesn't recall an instance where her sister was ever incorrect, and Maevis doesn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
But even despite the fact Maevis is a hopeless romantic, Maevis found herself in a committed relationship.
She didn't exactly know how she ended up in a nearly year-long relationship with the starting point guard of the Philadelphia 76ers, but somehow being dragged to a Halloween party lead to sparks flying, and as they say, the rest is history.
Tonight the rain is heavy. The droplets splash harshly onto the puddles it created just a mere hour ago. The sunlight is practically nonexistent --- there's nothing except the moonlight illuminating the view. Maevis stands with her arms folded in drenched clothing, but she doesn't mind that. Or at least she has to pretend she doesn't. Welcome to the world of acting.
Just a few steps ahead of her is someone casted as her lover, but ironically enough there's no chemistry. No intimacy, no sparks, just a set of ice blue eyes that stare a hole into her head. The actor has to pretend there's something there, like he's been itching his entire life for this one and only kiss. Just a tiny speck of love, or even attraction, and both of them can't deliver. Pretending is hard when there's nothing there or when you have a boyfriend. And Maevis wished she second guessed this idea before executing it in her debut music video.
