I guessed tonight there would be not only one house that stunned me, but two. It took around thirty minutes long drive to reach Mr. Palmer's house. Raymond pulled his car to the huge black gate. And it's just the same as his gate, it opened automatically by itself as this car stopped right in front of it. Just by the gate, I already can imagine how the house would look like. It's a mansion.
Yeah, I couldn't be wrong for that. I am totally right. As this car moved slowly approaching the mansion, my eyes turned into an awe. And, my mind was like, how fucking wealthy is this birthday man? He doesn't has a house, but he definitely owned a castle. Holy moly!
This humungous build seems to be deliberately made with an ancient and charming design. The towering pillars are firmly displayed in front, making this mansion look even more magnificent. The red brick walls successfully highlighting the classic impression. I can't hardly wait to get inside of it.
"Ray?"
"Yes?" he replied while turning this car towards the entrance where there were already two men waiting. They stood up straight on the right and left, wearing maroon suits with white gloves.
"I feel so bad that I have no birthday gift for Mr. Palmer." I finally conveyed my anxiety.
Raymond chuckled. "Me neither." Then the car stopped right in the middle of the two men who were standing. "You know what? That's doesn't even matter. All you need to do now is, be prepared for every single eye that will stare at you in amazement as soon as I take you out of the car. Cause you look so dang great tonight." A wink flashed from his gorgeous eyes before he got out of the car, rushed to my door, and helped me out. I am blushing to his words. Do I really look that great right now?
When I entered this mansion, I almost wrapped my arm around Raymond's arm. Isn't that what couples do? But then I quickly reminded myself that we weren't a couple. We're just co-workers who've been out together and kissed. That is all. Nothing more, yet. Besides, Raymond didn't even try to grab my hand to hold me or anything. So I thought, I did the right thing by keeping my hands from moving from where they belong.
I was even more amazed by this mansion once I got inside. Luxurious chandeliers are installed in every corner. The light emitted made everyone in the room look even more radiant. The men look dashing, as well as the women, they look so elegant. This was really far from what I expected a birthday party to be. It's more like a ball. I feel so lucky that Raymond gave me this dress. Not just the dress, but everything I'm currently wearing. This way, I can move confidently.
I could see Regina who was near the bar area. She saw me and waved her hand at me, gesturing for me to come over her. "Oh, Gina's there. Is it okay if I go there?" I asked Raymond as I waved back at Gina.
"Sure. Just make sure you don't get too far away from me, okay?" he whispered. I smiled shyly and nodded, then took my steps to Gina.
She looks so pretty in her grey A-silhouette dress and her beach waves hairdo. "Whoa! Look at you, Brianne!" Gina spread her hands widely and brought her eyes to scan my appearance. "You look so amazing, girl!"
Dang! She said it loudly that made people around her turned their head at me. I wish I could ran to her and palmed her mouth. But this stiletto slowing me down. So I walked awkwardly towards her. "Shh! Lower your voice, G! Everyone is looking at me!"
She giggled. "So what? You really are look hot, Brie!" She whispered at the word hot. I know I am. I was thinking the same when I looked myself at the mirror. This sleeveless V-neck long-dress really did its job well to make me ... different. "Here." She handed me a glass of red wine.
"Thank you." I took a sip of it. Ah, taste so good. It must be one of costly kinds of wine.
"So, you owe me the whole story, Brie! Tell me about it."
