Chapter 6: Missing Him Already???

Kageyama made his way through the airport after saying goodbye to Iwaizumi, trying his best to hide the fact that he'd been crying. He kept looking over his shoulder at the archway Hinata had walked through to go board his plane, as if he expected him to still be standing there ready to run into his arms and never leave.

"Fuck Tobio. Stop it. He's gone now and that's that. Stop being such a big baby. He'll call you when he lands for his layover and you'll be fine. Stop worrying stop worrying stop worrying."

His thought process was interrupted by a pole nearly colliding with him as he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. He apologized to it as if it were a person then smacked his forehead when he realized what he'd just said. "I need to get out of my head...." "Out of your what??"

Kageyama looked down to see Natsu skipping up to him from the candy shop. "Are you okay Tobio?? Here have some candy! It always makes me feel better." Natsu handed Kageyama a bag of assorted chocolates and gummies before whipping around and spreading her arms over her head in an arch motion. "That's why mom brought us here. It's HUUUUUGE!"

Kageyama chuckled as Ms Hinata walked out of the store and they all began walking to the car. Natsu walked ahead and Ms Hinata trailed behind to talk to Kageyama. "Hey dear, are you alright? Like seriously." Kageyama wasn't sure if he should tell the truth or lie to spare her feelings because he knew she was just as heartbroken as he was, so he just tossed another piece of candy into his mouth.

"I know you're probably thinking 'oH yOu'Re HiS MoThEr I ShOuLdN't Be sAdDeR ThAn yOu' or whatever but hey, don't think that. I've been preparing for this for months and I'm honestly more okay than I thought I'd be. You on the other hand, hmmmm I have a feeling that you've just been avoiding thinking about it all this time rather than preparing for it."

Kageyama nearly froze mid step, but caught himself before he made himself look like a fool. "Jeez Ms Hinata, what are you a mind reader?" Ms Hinata laughed and shrugged her shoulders. "Just a hunch honey. But all jokes aside, you're always welcome in our home. It's yours too you know." She winked at him in a joking way before continuing on.

"You don't even need to ask, just come on in whenever you want whether I'm home or not. Natsu would sure love the company, plus you know where the spare key is if neither of us are home. Help yourself." Kageyama smiled at Ms Hinata's generous offer and nodded. "Might take you up on that. It's probably.....gonna get really lonely without Sho here."

Ms Hinata chuckled and nodded as they exited the airport, caught up with Natsu and walked to the parking garage. "Tobio you're gonna come see me everyday right!!??" "Natsu sweetie, hes got his own stuff to do you know that." Kageyama chuckled and ruffled Natsu's hair with his hand that wasn't holding his candy bag. "Yeah that's true, but don't worry. I'll come see you as often as I can, I promise." Natsu cheered while she opened her door and hopped into the passenger seat.

"Oh yeah Kageyama, there was something Shoyo wanted me to give you when he left. I'm not sure why but he said to wait until we dropped him off at the airport so is it okay if we swing by our house before bringing you home?" "Yeah that's fine." Kageyama was very curious, but also a little worried.

"Don't tell me....no way no. He's not gonna have a break up letter ready is he??? Theres no way. The ring on my finger proves that, we made a promise. Okay breathe. Breathe breathe. It's probably just something stupid don't worry."

Hinata and Tohru chatted as they walked down the hall to the door to enter their plane (idk what it's called -author) about volleyball and what they think Brazil will be like before Tohru drastically changed the subject. "So Hinata, how much do you think you'll miss your king?" The light from Hinata's eyes drained immediately and his smile lessened, making Tohru freak out. "SHIT- I didn't mean to make you upset sorry! This is a really bad start to the next two years of our lives ain't it?"
