Chapter 3: Double D (Date Day)

Starting to grow impatient, Hinata shuffled in his seat on the couch as he waited for Kageyama to finish getting ready for their unexpected date he'd announced. Kageyama always took forever to get ready and Hianta knew this, though it always made him fidgety because he could never sit still.

"Baaaaabe! You ready yet??!" Hinata threw his head back on the back of the couch, tapping his heels. "Uh- yeah! Just- just another minute!" "You've been saying that for the last 20!" Hinata sighed and stood up to walk to the room.

As he approached the door, he heard the closet door opening and multiple drawers opening and closing. "I'm coming in you're taking fucking forever!" "WHAT- NO DONT!" Hinata didn't listen and twisted the knob, but was stopped by Kageyama holding it from the other side.

"Hey-! Why can't I come in??" He heard Kageyama sigh before he said, "I look terrible! I'm trying to find a good outfit!" Hinata scoffed. "Oh WHATEVER! I'm coming in let go of the door." Kageyama didn't let go, but Hinata managed to twist it enough to push it open. He saw Kageyama wearing a white button down with vertical blue stripes and the top two buttons undone as it hung loosely on his body and jeans that the shirt was tucked into.

"Wow." Kageyama smacked his face with his hand and looked away. "I know, it looks horrible. That's why I told you to give me a minute dumbass!" Hinata walked over to Kageyama, removed his hand and kissed him quickly before taking him by the hand and dragging him to the door. "You look fine! Now come on."

Kageyama rolled his eyes and smiled softly, slipping on his shoes and following Hinata outside. "Well mister surprise man. Where we goin?" Hinata led the way, walking fast enough that Kageyama had to borderline jog. "Today is our Double D and I've decided we're having one at least every one to two weeks!" Kageyama muffled back a laugh.

"It's our....PFFFFFF.....what???" Hinata stopped and turned to look over his shoulder, Kageyama having to force himself to stop moving so fast. "Our Double D. Y'know- Date Day. Two Ds. So- double D." Kageyama burst out laughing. "That's- PFFF- That's definitely a name for it...."

Hinata crossed his arms and stepped closer to him. "Don't make fun of me! Now cmon we're burning daylight." Kageyama began walking, still trying to recover from his laughing fit. "You're so immature Tobio jeez."

Hinata led them to a small, but formal, ramen shop that was near a strip mall and as they approached the door, Kageyama stopped in his tracks. "Hinata, this place is so fancy I- why'd you bring me here???? I'm nowhere near dressed nice enough!!" Kageyama began panicking as he'd never been to such a nice place before, even though it wasn't exactly what one would call, 'upper class five star'.

Hinata looked confused and looked Kageyama up and down. "First of all, it's really not that fancy. Second of all, I promise you you're not gonna be the most dressed down person in here." Kageyama calmed down a little, but then a thought ran through his mind. "But I can't even-??" Hinata scoffed and kicked his shin with his ankle.

"Don't even think about paying. I'm treating you today deal with it. No arguing." "But I-" Hinata put a finger to Kageyama's mouth and shushed him. "I said no arguing. Now come on, let's eat!" Kageyama grumbled and followed Hinata inside.

"A table for two please!" The host smiled and grabbed two menus from the cart behind him, as well as two pairs of chopsticks. "Of course. Right this way gentlemen." He smiled a little brighter at Hinata than he did Kageyama and led them to a small booth in the corner of the restaurant, placed the menus in front of them and nodded, but looked at Hinata over his shoulder, as he walked away.

"He was looking at you weird..." Kageyama mumbled. "Hm? What was that?" Hinata looked up from his menu to see Kageyama glaring at the host as he returned to his place in front of the door. "Oooooo gettin jealous are ya?" Kageyama's head whipped back around to face Hinata and he shook his head. "Of course not! He was just lookin at you funny."
