Chapter 5

This kind of a filler chapter but there is some fun Sirius and Lily brother and sisterly moments and a little bit of angst.

Lily POV

 We held hands while walking down the corridor to the regular gryffindor common room. We say the password "Expeliarmus" and the fat lady steps aside. We walk in and see Marlene, Dorcas, Alice, Mary, Remus, Sirius and Peter. Oh my godric peter! Where was he on the train? I'll just ask him later. I'm sure it's fine.

"LILY!!" Marlene, Alice, Dorcas and Mary all shouted.

I quickly dropped James' hand and ran to hug them all because I missed them so much over the summer.

"How was everyone's holiday ?" I asked.

"It was amazing Marlene and I were inseparable the entire holiday!" Dorcas explained whilst hugging Marlene's shoulders.

"What about you Mary?" I asked.

"Oh nothing too exciting. I still can't believe you are leaving me this year though!" She said with a pout. "You're leaving me with Alice and Frank, they are love sick!" She complained. "They are almost worse than James fawning over you," she said and James and I simultaneously choked on our spit.

"You two ok?" Remus said with a smirk.

"Ya just dandy!" James said a little too enthusiastically.

"Well James and I need to go talk to Mcgonagal about head stuff." I said nonchalantly.

"Yup!" James agreed as we walked out with all of our friends eying us curiously.

After the meeting James and I walked to the great hall to welcome in the first years and eat dinner. We said hello to the first years as we walked in and sat down. The hat sang its song and Mcgonagal called each of the first years up by name. We reminisced over our sortings and the many sortings we had watched. After the sorting Dumbledore got up and said his speech. Then he announced the heads for the year.

"Our heads this year are both from Gryffindor house. I'm pleased to announce Lily Evans as Head Girl!" I stood and did a gentle wave. "And James Potter as Head Boy!" James stood up and bowed. Everyone laughed except the Slytherin table.

After Dumbledore was finished the feast appeared, even grander than last years. After we had stuffed ourselves full we walked back to our common rooms. James and I left the Gryffindor common room after ensuring everyone made it in safely. Then we walked out the painting and towards our dorm. I slipped my hand into his, it still shocks me how perfectly our hands fit together. I leaned my head against his strong

shoulder as we walked, with not a care in the world. James and I said goodnight to each other and we went to our prospective dorm rooms.

The next morning

I woke up at 7 like I do every morning for classes. I walk down my stairs and see the last of the sunrise over the pitch. It's my first sunrise in the head's common room and it's glorious. James walks in from his run. He hugs me from behind, scaring me.

"Shit! James. Don't scare me like that. And besides you're all sweaty." I say, trying to wiggle out of his grasp. "Well what classes do you have today?" I ask, giving in to his embrace, leaning my head on his chest.

"I have Transfiguration, Potions, lunch, Defense against the Dark arts and charms. What about you?" He finishes.

"Well" I say looking up "It looks like our Monday schedules are the same." I say with a grin.
