─◌✰್ chapter eighteen ;; bitch

*ੈA face this intimidating doesn't deserve to get hit. *ੈ

"Cee, it's almost seven. Take me home please."

"What's wrong? It's not even dark yet—?"

"I have business with someone. Please."

"Alright."

He stood up. Everyone else wanted to go, but you didn't care. More people is technically more evidence. The car ride was quiet other than Omoi and Karui going back and forth about the most random things.

If anything, you were going to really fight. There's no way you could mess up your worked on hair or that pretty face. Let alone get any bruises or scratches. Just wait until she hits first and use your weapon. That way, it could be labeled as self defense.

You spaced out until Cee started talking.

"Why're you in such a rush to get home? Is everything alright?"

"Yes, everything's alright. I have to get home— two people are waiting on me."

"Two people?"

"Yes, two."

You looked out the window, sighing in many different emotions. All you want to do was go back to the dorm and go to sleep. Maybe talk to Neji for a little bit— who knows?

Of course, though. Annoying problems have to come and give you a headache. Like mentioned before, his college wasn't to far from yours. Cee lived in a neighborhood in front of the college.

So— you all got there quickly. They decided they weren't going to stay and just let you go in after saying goodbye. As you were walking down the hallway, you could already feel something was wrong.

It was too quiet for it to be seven. Temari wasn't waiting at your dorm nor did she leave any type of note. Shikamaru hasn't called you, so you guessed you were fine.

After getting yourself ready for the night, you were just sitting in bed and waiting on Neji to come back. It was around nine at night, so he should be back soon.

The lock turned and the door opened. Neji walking in, groaning to himself. It was dark and the only source of light was from your phone.

"Welcome back. Did you have fun?"

"I guess so. What about you?"

"I mean I was having fun."

He started unbuttoning his shirt, turning the lamp on. "What do you mean?"

"Shikamaru called me and told me Temari wanted to fight. She said I'd better be here before seven but she never showed up, so now I'm confused."

Slipping his shirt off, he started to space out. You looked at him but really you couldn't help but look down at his chest.

"She's planning to do something tonight."

"I see.."

"I can stay up if you want."

"No, I have nothing to worry about. Also..why were you so mad earlier?"

"I wasn't mad." He crossed his arms, turning his head.

"Don't tell me you're j—"

"I am not! If you accuse me of being jealous one more time, I'll show you just how much I have to be 'jealous' for."

"Yeah yeah."

"T-Temari, please! You're causing disturbance!"

"Shut up, Shikamaru!"

The door began getting banged on. You sighed, grabbing the taser you always kept under your pillow.

"Uh, what're you planning to do with that?"

"Put it to use, what else?"

"Oh so you're not going to put the martial arts lessons to use?"

"I might. A face this intimidating doesn't deserve to get hit."

"Dear lord." He mumbled to himself.

You walked to the door, slowly putting your hand on the doorknob.

"Open the fucking door!"

You opened it and she came in swinging like she was a crazy person. Which she was. You did as said, putting the weapon to use. Her eyes rolled back and they closed. She dropped to the ground.

"I guess I should've physically fought her.."

Shikamaru picked her up, throwing her over his shoulder. "Sorry about all of this."

"It's whatever. Go ahead and take her back before she wakes up."

"Right. I will."

You closed the door, sighing.

"Well that was quick, hm?"

"I don't want to fight for an invalid reason. As much disturbance as she caused, she could probably go to jail. Not my problem."

You laid on your bed, pulling the covers over you.

"Talk about all bark but no bite. She didn't even lay a single hit on you after she completely invaded our dorm. Luckily nothings messed up."

"Yeah.."

Your phone was on the dresser that separated you and Neji's bed. It lit up, catching the both of your attention. Cee texted you asking if everything was alright. He wanted to ask you earlier about the phone call but he was too shy to ask.

Neji's eye twitched as he looked from the phone, back at you. You picked up the phone which actually made him a little mad if he had to be honest. He turned the lamp off, laying down.

"Why'd you turn the lamp off?"

"It's time to sleep."

"Time to sleep? Yeah, for you maybe."

"You too. We have classes tomorrow."

"Neji, why are you so mad all of a sudden?"

"Not mad."

"I can hear it in your tone."

"This is my regular tone."

Your eyebrows furrowed. "You must've seen this text or something."

"What, are you accusing me of being jealous again?"

"Well— I'm not accusing you. I'm just telling the truth."

"Just— I have nothing to be jealous of. Didn't I tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

"I told you that I'll show you just how much I have to be jealous for if you accuse me like that again."

You stayed quiet for a minute, trying to figure out what he meant.

"That's disgusting."

"I don't mean it like that."

"Sure...whatever you say."

He sighed. You started laughing a little because of how mad he got. It was always amusing to you at how he got so mad at just two words. 'You're jealous.' He hated it more than almost anything.
