"You can fall a thousand times, everyone does. But not all dare to rise back up a thousand and one times, become the one person who has the courage to do so,"-

"Remember, the lady of the house is the honor and pride of the house. Unfortunately enough," Sungmin's bitter glance made Eun lower her head. "You are the lady of House Ahn." He smiled angelically and nodded at the knights that greeted him as they walked through the hallways. Eun's hand was placed on his arm as he guided her along the shiny Victorian floors.

Soon enough, they entered the massive gates, plated with gold and magnificently decorated with tinted glass. "Keep reminding yourself of that with every breath you take in this castle, Ye Eun." Eun could hear him talking about the expectations and protocols she had to follow throughout her stay at the imperial palace, but she wasn't listening.

Sungmin wore the finest set of clothes he could get his hands on, a venomously green attire with a black cloak and a brooch on the tie, the darkest emerald Eun had ever seen. Sungmin was a handsome man; though he was quite old, his skin was still glowy and bright, and his dark eyes were charming. His long dark brown hair, tied with a ribbon on the back of his neck, was silky and gorgeous too.

After he informed them of the event, the royal ball, Anne was extremely excited. She handpicked the best dress she could find in Eun's closet. Most of her dresses were old, and the fashion that currently sparked the ladies of Pervienne was far away for both of them. Neither did they know what the noble ladies liked to wear in recent times, nor did they have the supplies for it, so Anne did the best she could. The dress wasn't something too magnificent.

The gold-toned off-white fabric ran from her neck to her toes. The beautiful gold-embroidered butterflies ran from the bottom to the waist, above which the corset of gold hugged her figure perfectly. The neckline, decent and tall, revealed nothing, but couldn't as such hide the beauty of the young girl. The elegance of the dress was enhanced by the multiple buttons that ran down her back, the sleeves of the dress gracefully ran down to the middle finger of her hands and ended on a ring.

The jewels that held her bun together shone with eternal bliss. A few strands of her hair, purposefully left astray to bewitch anyone who came across her swayed along when she walked, did their job well. Eun noticed how the maids around them and the knights would often glance at her and a surprise would explode on their faces followed by indistinguishable whispers. She couldn't care, not when the castle before her was as marvelous.

Her eyes feasted on the beautiful chandeliers that were brought down, with multiple maids wiping them with dusting cloths. Many other chandeliers in the great hall were perhaps already prepared for the day and were being anchored up by the servants.

Bordered by large, girthy pillars, the grand hall made Eun's eyes light up with excitement. She had read a lot about the twenty-two pillared royal grand hall of the imperial castle of Pervienne, but to look at it with her own eyes gave her a new joy.

As she glanced up at the ceiling, the beautiful glass decor, through which the soft rays of the morning sun peeked, her lips parted in awe. The mansion of House Ahn was beautiful and grand, but the imperial palace was so rich in culture and beauty, it couldn't be compared to anything she had seen or read before.

The architecture so beautifully made use of natural light, illuminating the entire place through glass and mirrors, made her eyes squint and brought a faint smile to her lips.

"Greetings to the Duke, lord of House Ahn," Evane bowed. Eun was brought back to reality when she noticed the knight standing before them, in front of the beautiful staircase that started as large as one and then tore into two, framing a beautiful painting.
