The fight passes in a blur of whipping wind, earth, fire and water.
I shoot water streams at the Guards, kncoking them unconcious.
They're down in numbers. We might actually win.
I'm pretty drained, but we need to win. Using the last shreds of energy I have left, the river shoots up behind me, washing over the guards in a tidal wave.
I stagger forward, completely exhausted. I couldn't move a drop of water to save my life.
Someone's arms wrap around me, their voice echoing to me. "You can sleep, Arika. You're safe."
-----
I wake up in an unfamiliar room. It looked similar to my old room back at the Guild, but that room went down in flames a few hours ago. At least I think it was a few hours ago. I sit up, and see Lynn and a guard sitting near me. Fingers twitching, I try to reach out to water, but there was nothing in reach.
"Don't bother." The guard says. "We're two miles from any water."
I glare at him. "Why am I here? And where's the rest of the Guild?" I ask.
"Relax, Arika." Lynn soothes, a smile slowly creeping up her face. "They're fine. The Guard surrendered. We won." She finishes with a huge smile.
"W-we what? We won? After all these years..." I trail off. "We actually won." I whisper
"Come on! The rest of the Guild is waiting!" Lynn exclaims, dragging me out of the bed
I quickly follow her, excitement building up in my body.
The rest of the Guild tackled me as soon as I got into their view. I don't even know why. But they did.
They told me what happened after I unleashed the tsunami. The guards dropped and surrendered. We made arrangements and got the new place and we weren't going to be hunted anymore. The entire Guild were full citizens now.
That's not what I was really happy about, though. They actually treated me like I was part of the Guild
And for the first time in a really long time, I felt like I belonged.
