harry's pov
my wife, y/n and i are sitting in the living room talking, when all of a sudden our 14 year old son, lucas, walks in. y/n and i turn our attention to him, "hey, what's up," i ask.
"can i talk to you dad, in private," he asks, his voice soft and quiet.
"of course," i reply.
i get up from the couch and the two of us make our way upstairs to his room. i sit on his bed as he follows my actions.
"what's up," i start, giving him my full attention.
"uhm..." he starts, looking down at his hands; he looks nervous.
"hey, why are you nervous," i ask, rubbing his shoulder.
"i-i hope you don't hate me," he says.
"lucas, i could never hate you, what's wrong," i comfort.
"i...i like girls and boys," he whispers, his voice scratchy. a few tears escaping his green eyes, "please don't hate me, please."
i bring him into my arms, his head pressed to my chest, sobs leaving his lips. i rub his back in up and down motions.
"don't cry, please don't cry," i whisper into his ear, "it's okay. i don't hate you, i never could."
"r-really," he stutters.
"of course. you're my child, i'm going to support you with anything you do. i love you okay," i reply.
"i love you too, thank you."
"you're welcome."
he detaches himself from me and wipes away his tears.
"how long have you known," i ask.
"four months," he answers, "there was this new boy in school and we got partnered together and i realized that it felt different but good," he explains.
"you like him more than a friend?"
"yeah," he says looking down at his fingers.
"there's nothing wrong with that," i comfort, "you can't control who you love. you were born this way. you're becoming yourself and embracing it and i couldn't be more proud of you. i love you more than anything and i always will."
more tears fall from his eyes, but they're happy tears this time.
"thank you so much, for excepting me," he cries.
"it should always be that way, but you're welcome."
"is mom going to be okay with it," he asks, a little uncertain.
"of course she will."
"okay. i guess i should tell her now."
"do you want me there with you?"
"yeah."
"okay, whenever you're ready."
after a few minutes of silence, lucas gets up from his spot on the bed and turns towards me, "i'm ready," he whispers.
"alright," i reply and get up.
i give him one last hug before we walk back downstairs into the living room.
"mom," lucas says, gaining y/n's attention.
"yes," she says.
"i-i have to tell you something."
"what is it? is everything okay," her motherly instincts come into play, always on high alert if anything happens. she gets up from her spot on the couch and walks up to us, me staying behind him.
"everything's fine."
"then what's wrong? you can tell me anything."
"i know mom. uhm ...i-i'm not ...straight," he whispers. tears glazing his eyes once again.
"that's perfectly okay," she responds. i knew she would say that.
"are you sure," he asks.
"of course honey, if that's not who you are, then you don't have to be that person," she says as she walks up to him, bringing him into her arms. he wraps his arms around her waist as he puts his head into her chest.
"i love you for who you are, i always will no matter what," she whispers into his ear, me still hearing it through the quiet room.
"i love you too," he whispers back.
"so who are you," she says, pulling back from the hug, with a big smile on her face; proud of who her son is.
"bisexual."
"you wanna know something?"
"sure."
"i'm also bisexual."
a very confused look comes upon lucas's face, "what?"
"yeah, i'm bisexual too."
"since when?"
"since before i met your father," she responds, looking at me from behind lucas, with a smile.
"wow. i wasn't expecting that," he replies.
"surprise!"
"well i'm happy that you guys are accepting me for who i am," he says as he looks back and forth from the two of us.
"always," i say.
the three of us go in for a hug, but we get interrupted by light footsteps.
"momma!!!"
anna, our five year old daughter comes into our vision.
"what baby," y/n says bending down to pick her up.
"why didn't you invite me to da hug?"
we all snicker at anna's antics. she's definitely y/n's child.
"oh we're so sorry," y/n apologizes, in a joking manor.
"mhm," anna sasses.
we all laugh and get into a circle to have a family hug. we have these types of hugs when something big happens.
and that something big happened today.
in honor of me coming out to my family and friends, i decided to write a little something.
and this is also me coming out to all of you! yes, i'm bisexual now. yay me for starting to figure myself out. i'm proud of myself.
thank you for 13k reads!! love youuu ❤️
