I really like visiting Derek. Like an absurd amount. It's honestly what I look forward to most every day. He is just fun to be around or whatever. I'm not sure what exactly I enjoy about visiting him but in know I enjoy it a lot. And since we agreed that I would visit him more last week I've gone at least once a day.

I was about to go into his room when I saw Cristina, my best friend, staring blankly at the nurses station. She was standing completely still, which she never does. I walked up to her and stood next to her for a few seconds.

"What are we doing?" I asked quietly.

"What?" Her head turned quickly to see me.

"What are we doing?" I repeated.

"We are thinking." She responded.

"About?" I asked.

"Bees." She responded plainly.

"Bees?" I asked.

"Yes. Bees." She responded.

"What about bees?" I asked.

"So you know how last night Bailey sent me home?" She asked.

"Yes. What does that have to do with bees?" I asked.

"Shut up, I'm getting to that." She replied. "So I was kicked out of the hospital, and you were working, and I'd rathe stab myself in the eye than hang out with Barbie and Bambi without you or Alex."

"Understandable." I nodded. "Now get to the bees."

"So I went to my apartment and for some reason, instead of studying or reading like I always do, I turned on the tv." She explained.

"This is a really long story." I said.

"Do you want to hear it or not?" She asked.

"Yes, just faster." I said.

"Whatever, so I was watching tv and I turned to the nature channel." She explained.

"And you watched a nature documentary about bees?" I asked.

"Yes." She nodded. "How much do you know about bees?"

"I'm going to be really honest here, not much." I said.

"That's how I was. Pre-bee knowledge. I didn't know much about bees and I didn't think I wanted to know about bees." She explained.

"But now?" I asked.

"So there are these male bees, called drone bees. And their only purpose is to mate, they actually have half the chromosomes of a female honey bee." Cristina explained.

"So they are like human males?" I asked.

"Yes. So the queen bee has to mate with them, she mates with like twenty drone bees but she can only mate with each once because after they do it, the male's penis falls off." She went on.

"It falls off?" I gasped.

"Because of the force of the sex." She explained

"Wow." I said.

"You shouldn't be that impressed, remember what you did to that poor guy, Steve was it?" Cristina asked.

"I thought we decided not to talk about Steve anymore. And I just broke it, it didn't fall off." I defended.

"It would have if he didn't go to the hospital. So you had an unfair advantage because bees don't have hospitals." She said.

"Mean, you're mean. Tell me more about the bees." I said.
