The coach called me over to talk to her
"Ah Jackie it's great to have you here" she said
"It's great to be here" I replied
"Ok so I'm gonna introduce you to the girls and then we'll start practice"

She called everyone over

"Alright girls this is Jackie Phillips, she came from Oregon to play with us"

We started by running s mile around the softball and baseball field.

Boys whistled as we ran by, I rolled my eyes and kept going.

Next we did throwing drills, then practice plays and finally hitting, my favorite.

"Give it all you got Jackie, let's see what you can do" coach said

I put my helmet on, grabbed my bat and got in the batting box.

The outfielders we're getting ready. The baseball team lined up against the fence to watch, even Chase.

I got into position and got ready to swing. She pitched and it was coming in great, I pulled back and with full force swung.

Whack!

The ball hit the bat and went souring out. I ran past first, then second, third and finally home, I slid in. I could tell my brother was smirking and proud.

The boys were shocked and starred at me like I was crazy. I walked over to coach.

"Great job Phillips, you're better than the boys" she said smiling

"Thanks, but I wouldn't say better my brother is close to my batting average to"

"Who's your brother" she asked

"Chase Phillips"

"Hmm.. would you mind going and getting him" she asked

"Sure"

I walked over to the baseball field where the boys were back practicing throwing drills. I walked up to the coach to get Chase.

"How can I help you young lady" he asked

"I need Chase Phillips sir" I
replied

Practice was pretty much over anyways

"Phillips!" He yelled

He came running over.

He smiled when he saw me "Great job" he said hugging me

"Wait you're the girl that hit that homer" the coach asked

"Yes sir I am"

"Jackie Phillips right?"

"Yup the one and only"

"It's and honor to meet you, I'm gonna have to have you teach my boys how to properly play some ball" he said shaking my hand

I laughed as me and chase walked back over to the softball field.

"Coach this is Chase my brother"

"nice to meet you Chase" she said shaking his hand

"I have a question for both of you"she said

"Okay" we replied at the same time

"What's your fathers name" she asked

I kinda froze in my spot, no one and I mean no one has brought up our father for a long time.

Chase could see I was nervous so he grabbed my hand

"His name was Gage Phillips" He answered

"Ah wasn't he a baseball player back then"

"Yeah" he replied

"How's he doing now"

I stiffened at that, oh I don't know how he's doing because HES DEAD!

"M'am he and our mom died 3 years ago in a car accident" Chase said

"Oh in so sorry for your loss, who's your legal guardian"

"Our older brother Alex. He's also the legal guardian of our 4 year old brother" I answered

We finished talking with the coach and went to the locker rooms to change. Everyone was gone from softball because practice has been over for 15 minutes.

I changed back into my original clothes and grabbed all my gear.
Chase wasn't done yet so I waited at the end of the sidewalk.

"What's a pretty lady like you doing here" a baseball player that had dark brown hair, brown eyes and was easily 6 foot.

I just looked at him with a small glare.

"Awe cat got your tongue because of my sexiness" he smirked

"Oh god no" I said laughing

"Hey it's not that funny" he said pouting like a little kid

"Yes it is, to me at least"

"Whatever, I'm Tucker by the way"

"Jackie some people call me Jc"

"Well I'm gonna call you Jackie because I like that name"

"Okay then"

"So Jackie what are you doing tomorrow night" he asked

"Well I'm probably gonna go to the batting cages"

"Well do you mind if I join you"

"If you please to get showed up by a girl, go ahead"

"Well then I'll see you there Jackie"
He walked to the locker room and 2 minutes later Chase came out
"Thank god you're done, you take longer than me"
"Whatever lets go"
We put our stuff in the car, got in and headed home.
It was 6:30 by the time we got home.

When I walked into the house Zachary jumped onto my legs.

"Hi sissy" he said looking up at me and hanging on my legs

"Hi Zach" I said picking him up

"Will you come play with me outside" he asked

"I will in a minute, go get your shoes on" I told him and put him down

"Alex we're home" I yelled

"Okay just shut up I'm on the phone"

"With your girly friend" Chase yelled back
