"How are you and Andrew?" Claudia glanced Billie's way while looking at the huge rack of clothes.

Billie picked up her eyes from the price tag and look over at her, "We're... good. He's just a little stressed from work. That's all."

Claudia's hand reached for a hanger that had a cream colored puff-sleeve body-con dress on it and put it front of Billie, trying to picture her in it in her mind.

"I heard that he's gonna be a lawyer for a big jewelry company. What do you think about this one?"

Billie let go of the price tag that she was holding and glanced at the dress that Claudia had gotten a hold of, "That's what the meetings about today. Only we're getting to meet the deputy instead of the actual owner."

"You didn't answer my question about the dress!" Claudia waved it in front of her while impatiently yet jumping from her spot.

"I don't know. Might look weird on me," she pursued her lips to the side.

"Come on! You said you need something a little revealing but appropriate! You can see your arms through the thin fabric on the sleeves and it shows your shoulders," Claudia insisted.

Billie stared at it for a couple of seconds whilst trying to picture herself in it. Sure it had to be something Andrew would like. And something not too revealing and appropriate apparently.

"Okay. I'll take it."

"Yes!" Claudia let out a sigh of relief with a smile, all teeth. "Do you know the company's name? The name of the actual owner?"

"No. Although I am wondering what kind of an old asshole did he find time. Or the other way around."

Billie's eyes shot back to the dress, "I could wear my Christian Louboutin shoes with this one. Although I'm not sure if they're at the hotel, our beach house, apartment or at our house. Do I buy myself new ones just in case?"

"The ones you bought in Milan with the red bottom?"

In retaliation Billie only nodded her head.

Most of the time she would use shopping as something to take her mind off of things. And on top of that she didn't have to worry about leaving a stain in her bank account. Not that it worked for Andrew too. She could spend thousands of dollars each day and nor Andrew, nor his bank account would be affected by it.

"I'll figure something out," she finally made up her mind and took the hanger with the dress on it from Claudia's grip.

They made their way to the cashier's table and Billie set the dress down while looking around the store.

"Hello, ma'am. How are you doing today?"

She stopped mid wallet search and looked up at him, "I'm good. Thank you."

Claudia watched him take the hanger and go into the storage unit to pack it up.

"What was the price on it?", Billie glimpsed at her for a second before going back to ramming through her purse.

"Oh, I forgot to check it. Sorry. Are you not gonna try it on?"

"No. And it's okay. As long as it's not my money."

The truth was Billie was not financially stable on her own. Anything that she had before marrying Andrew was now gone. If she were to divorce him she would be left with nothing but unthinkable debts to pay off.
