"First weeding that's not against my will," Billie drily chuckled, eyes glued onto her reflection in the big mirror.
"Your wedding is in a couple of minutes... and this is what you say?" Finneas raised a brow.
Their stares met through their reflections before she laughed, "Sorry."
Claudia arranged the sleeves of the wedding dress that Billie had on, smiling, "Are you nervous?"
"Of course," she tilted her head. "Is that okay? Can I bet nervous?"
"Yes," the smile on her widened, showing off her teeth. "But no worries. You look beautiful and I know that Denzel will think so too."
"It looks like I stuffed a basketball underneath. I look huge."
"And still beautiful, with a basketball or not. How far along are you?"
"Thirty four weeks," Billie's hands softly brushed against her stomach. "He's about the size of a cantaloupe."
"Have you decided on the name?" Claudia questioned teasingly.
"Ha!" a chuckle escaped her lips. "Of course not. We haven't been able to agree on a singular name."
Finneas stuffed his hands in the pockets of his pants and mumbled, "We had the name long before we even knew the gender. Just saying."
In retaliation, she turned around, "I am soon going to be known as the bride that beat her brother up right before her wedding."
Right before he was about to say something, the door to the room opened, revealing Maggie and Patrick with a bouquet of flowers, "Wow! You look beautiful."
"Is it time?" Billie nervously chewed on her bottom lip.
"Yes, come on."
"Fingers crossed this is my last wedding ever," she blurted out.
"Hey," Maggie smiled whilst fixing up a piece of her daughter's hair. "It is. I truly believe it. Now come on."
"Okay. We need to go," Claudia pulled Finneas out of the room by his hand.
"Are you ready?" Patrick asked, letting her hook her arm around his.
"Yeah."
She got handed her, her flower bouquet by her mom, "There we go. Now you're really ready."
Billie got lead down a hallway, all the way to the doors of the actual venue where Claudia and Finneas met them to pull open the door for them.
Her eyes were met with the view of a red carpet, surrounded by their closest people, that lead to Denzel.
For a second they both locked eyes and
exchanged smiles before she looked away. The closer she walked, the faster her heart would beat.
It felt like her body would freeze any second once she let go of her dad's arm and stood right in front of him, but for the first time in her life, her nervousness was because of something good, something positive.
Prior to beginning, the wedding officiant took a glance at the two of them, "Today we have came together for the celebration of Billie and Denzel's marriage."
His eyes met hers, making the smiles on both of their faces grow.
"Marriage is an act of will. It requires a commitment to care for another person. By doing that, we show concern for the life and growth of those whom we love. Marriage requires commitment, to take responsibility for another person. Now, before your friends and family, I ask you, Denzel Curry, do you take Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell as your wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health as long as you both live?"
With no hesitation, he rejoined, "I do."
"Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell, do you take Denzel Curry to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both live?"
"I do."
"Now, please, exchange your vows."
Billie's hands moved over to her sleeve to pull out her piece of paper with an awkward grin, "I... yeah. I'll go first."
Clearing her throat, she unfolded the paper and exhaled, "The moment I met you, I thought that I was at my lowest. I didn't realize, that, that night would change my life forever. What I didn't know then was, that rock bottom had a basement. You were there for me for every moment of it, no matter what it cost you. Today by committing, I am making a promise to myself and you that I will be there for you no matter what it will cost me. I will be there for you through thick and thin, through your sickness and wellness, through your pain and through your joy. In front of everyone here, I promise my commitment to you."
She folded up the paper and put it back, meeting the soft expression on his face.
"Bil," he took her hands in his. "Today I join myself to you, my life to yours. I'll be not only your husband, but I will also be your friend. You have changed me for the better. When I thought that I'd never be able to trust anyone again, you proved me wrong. For this past year, you have and still continue to fulfill me. You were the fresh breath of air that I really needed. With this vow, I promise to love you unconditionally throughout all of our years together, support you and help you."
As a sigh that he was done, he looked over to their officiant.
"This ring," she stopped whilst Claudia stepped closer with their rings. "Represents your love and the vows you made in front of everyone. Now, repeat after me," she looked over at Denzel.
"I, Denzel Curry give you, Billie O'Connell, this ring as a symbol of my commitment to love, honor, and respect you."
Repeating her words, he took the ring and slid it on Billie's finger.
"I, Billie O'Connell give you, Denzel Curry, this ring as a symbol of my commitment to love, honor, and respect you."
They got given a pen to sign their marriage certificate before turning back towards each other.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. Groom, you may kiss the bride."
Waisting no time, Denzel pulled Billie for a gentle kiss. She completely melted in his hold, letting the feeling of joy fulfill her body.
They pulled away and pressed their foreheads together with big smiles.
"I love you," she whispered out.
"I love you, too."
