It had been a couple of weeks of them seeing each other.
It wasn't anything serious at first.
Mostly no strings attached. At first.
Just some fun here and there. At first.
Something didn't feel quite the same anymore.
"Hi, what are you doing right now?" Billie smiled on the phone while leaning back in her limo chair, sipping away her second champagne glass.
"I'm at my office, working through some documents," responded Denzel.
"Hmm," she bit her bottom lip and giggled. "I miss you."
On the other line she could feel him smirking.
She was bored and wanted him in that moment for her own pleasure.
"Do you not miss me?"
"I do miss you."
"Well then... can I come see you?"
"What will your husband say?"
"He won't know, just like he hasn't these past weeks. I'll ask my driver to drop me off somewhere close."
Denzel chuckled at her idea and shook his head while clicking his pen, "There's a restaurant not far away. Great Jones Distilling Co. & The Grid."
"Great then. I'll be there in a few," she smiled.
"Call me when you're there, I'll send someone downstairs."
"Too lazy to come down? Are you scared?" she teased.
"My workers are trustworthy if that's what you mean. Alright, go into the store and ask for the owner."
"Okay, see you."
"See you."
Billie put down her phone and champagne glass, then bent forward to knock on the window that would lead to her driver. She watched it roll down before she spoke, "Steven, Great Jones Distilling Co. & The Grid."
"Got it, Mrs. Ellison."
Her eyes stared out the tinted window, watching the big buildings pass by.
The restaurant wasn't a long drive, she could easily walk there if it were safe for her.
Whilst driving there, she pulled out a small mirror from her purse to fix up her bangs a little bit, clean up her lipstick and overall just check her appearance.
Surprisingly there wasn't much traffic.
Except for a few stupid drivers here and there.
Luck was on her side.
"Steven?" she knocked again.
He rolled down the window once again and made eye contact with her through the convex mirror, "Yes, Mrs. Ellison?"
"Can you let me off alone?"
He kept quiet, his eyes back on the road for a second.
"Please? I want some time alone."
Clearly he was contemplating wether or not it was worth risking his job for it.
"I won't tell Andrew, I promise," she reassured.
A sigh left his lips, he looked on the side.
