Chapter 9: Xenna Confronts Tulio

Dylan went downstairs to the geology section to find it in a complete mess. Two traders were underneath a shelf and Brian was still beating on the leader's back while the man tried to throw him off.

"Brian, what are you doing?"

"Trying to stay alive!"

Dylan moved out of the way and hid behind a toppled bookshelf. He took out his grappling hook and fired it at a table. The man was too busy fighting with Brian to notice the cord and tripped on it, falling on Brian with a loud thud. Dylan retrieved his hook and went over to help Brian out from under the trader.

"You alright?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm good." Brian went to the bookshelf and picked up the map. "Here." Dylan took the map and read it until he noticed something.

"Hey. Hey, the map!"

"What about it?"

"It's the real one...you had the real map all this time." He chuckled at this but then stopped when we realized. "Which means...Xenna!"

Brian follows Dylan as he runs out of the section. "What about Xenna? And what do you mean by "the real map"?"

"I'll explain later. Come on."

Meanwhile, Tulio was still running through Paris with the other map. He stopped at the Arc de Triomphe and looked back to see Xenna still following him. He pushed a man off of his scooter and drove down the roundabout. Tulio took out his radio and said, "I got the map. Meet me at the top of the Eiffel Tower."

Xenna arrived at the Arc to look for Tulio until she saw him exiting the roundabout and resumed chasing after him. Back at the library, Dylan and Brian came out to the front steps.

"Alright, partner. What's the plan?"

"I want you to stay here and call the jet."

"What?"

Dylan pressed the button on his strap, igniting his jet pack. "I'm gonna look for Xenna."

"But Dylan, what if there's more of those guys? I can help. Really."

Dylan gave Brian a small glance. Hesitating, he said, "I appreciate you wanting to help, Brian, but...right now, I just need you to keep the map safe."

"But-"

"Brian...please?"

Brian wanted to say something, but he just used his watch to call the jet. Dylan sets off to retrieve Xenna. Meanwhile, Tulio was still driving through the streets of Paris. He turned down the Avenue d'Iéna to lose his niece. He came up to a trashcan and tipped it into the street. He came up to a café and grabbed a tray of food from a waitress. Xenna managed to dodge the food and trashcan in time. While this was going on, she heard Dylan on her Bluetooth.

"Xenna, where are you guys?"

"He's heading for the tower."

"Got it."

Tulio arrived at the Eiffel Tower after crossing the Pont d'Iéna. After climbing multiple stairs to the summit, Tulio saw the helicopter by the edge. He ran to the aircraft and was greeted by Xenna kicking him in the face. She flipped over the railing and stood in his path while the man fell.

"You lied to me!"

Tulio cracks his neck and asks, "Now, is that any way to greet your uncle?"

"You told my mom, your sister, that you gave up smuggling."

"It's only business, Xenna."

"It's always business when you get caught. How did you escape jail anyway?"
