Two kingdoms had been at war since the beginning of time. With one led by a merciless tyrant lacking empathy, the other guided by a humble man with a heart of gold, each disagreement between the two kings had led to violence and bloodshed.
It had seemed like the world could have ended twice before the two leaders would quit bickering with one another. Generations of citizens had seen their rulers go back and forth at each other, each one believing they were practically immortal, which they actually were immortal.
It had to end soon enough, everyone believed that it would. Both kingdom's subjects fantasized about the day that they would be free, when they would no longer live in fear of another war, forcing them to witness another battle.

Tubbo dashed down the many endless hallways towards the throne room. He sprinted past framed portraits, porcelain vases, and glass cases containing treasures only known to be owned by royals.
Today was the most important day of his career as a palace worker. He was summoned by the King himself for a special assignment meant just for him, it was a true honor.
Slowing his pace he arrived at a tall, spruce wood door with the kingdom's signature emblem carved into it, a simple heart with feathered wings attached.
Tubbo placed his hand on the imprinted logo, feeling the smoothness of each crevice of the door as it brushed by his fingers, reminiscing on his time spent working under the King's authority.
Usually, Tubbo would have to abide by those who had more authority and experience than him (occasionally getting simple tasks from the two princes) and carry out their orders. But now, he had to answer directly from the king.
He hesitated for a moment, whether he did good or bad on this request would determine his future status in the kingdom. If he messed up now, despite all of the effort he put into his role as a palace worker, he would be finished.
The boy inhaled in an attempt to calm himself for the king, held his breath for a second, then exhaled and proceeded to knock on the door. He waited for it to open for him, which immediately led to him locking eyes with the King's right-hand man, Technoblade.
The muscular man had his pink hair in a braid that nearly touched the floor, accompanied by a collared top made of a fine material and red trousers that went up to his waist. All of it was tried together by a brown leather belt with a scabbard that contained a gleaming metal blade inside of it.
Technoblade looked Tubbo up and down, analyzing him with the eyes of a deadly hawk causing the boy to stand there awkwardly.
It wasn't the first time the man had stared Tubbo down like that. He had done it several times from a distance as he passed by Tubbo carrying out his tasks around the castle. Tubbo saw him every time and always thought he was making a lousy attempt at being intimidating, but now that he was this close and he could see the true details of his face, he could confirm that Techno's attempts at intimidation weren't lousy in the slightest. A mere glimpse from the man made a shiver crawl up Tubbo's spine now, which didn't help calm his pre-existing anxieties.
"Let the boy in, Tech." A voice called out from the throne room. Technoblade looked at Tubbo one last time before making room for him to pass by. He took a step forward and his eyes brightened as he took in his surroundings.
He had only seen the room in all of its glory once in his life. It was back when he was younger, old enough to work under the royal family.
Since he was a mere child, it was his dream job to be able to serve as a part of the royal household with loyalty and bravery. He was there to shake hands with the king and receive a formal welcome and a tour of the neverending castle.
