The driver carefully swung open the door of the carriage, and out came a tall boy who looked to be around Tommy and Tubbo's age. His half black, half white face stood out immediately to the family, which was followed by the prince's heterochromic eyes and pointed ears.
Everything about the prince was abnormal to them, everyone but Phil. He had received letters from Dream describing his son's looks, so he wasn't appalled at the sight of him, unlike the others.
Tommy was staring intensely at Ranboo with his eyebrows furrowed. When he first heard the news from Wilbur about Ranboo, he thought he would at least be human. He'd never imagined him being, well, whatever species he was.
Tubbo took notice of how rude Tommy must have come off when Ranboo stared back at him for a moment, then didn't hesitate to look in the other direction. He jabbed his friend in the arm with his elbow, causing him to finally quit looking at Ranboo.
Ranboo stepped forward and walked towards the family. He then kneeled down in front of Phil. "It is an honor to be here, your majesty." He said.
"Please, we're all happy to have you visit, kiddo." Phil replied.
Ranboo stood up and was greeted by Wilbur and Techno. After they were done, Tubbo took his chance to introduce himself. "Hi, I'm Tubbo! I'll be helping you with anything you need throughout your stay in L'Manburg." He said as he put his hand out.
"Ranboo." The prince said back, shaking Tubbo's hand in return. "It's a pleasure meeting you, Tubbo."
He then looked at Tommy. The two princes made eye contact, and it stayed like that for a little bit longer than it should have. Tubbo decided he had to break it up before it got awkward.
"And, uh, that's Tommy. Prince Wilbur's younger brother, also a prince yeah." His words ended up being more mixed up than he would have liked them to be.
Mimicking Tubbo, Tommy stuck out his hand to Ranboo, then proceeded to grasp it firmly when he took it.
"You have a, um, a strong grip there, Tommy." Ranboo admitted.
"Got it from Techno over there." Tommy replied before he tilted his head slightly towards the man.
"Ah. That explains it. I heard he was a powerful warrior on your side of the battlefield."
"Yeah, he really is."
Tubbo and the others watched the two princes stare each other down. Well, truthfully it was more Tommy looking at Ranboo as he stayed confused at why Tommy's grip on his hand kept getting tighter and tighter.
Being the one who seemed to have to be the one to keep Tommy in line for the next two weeks, Tubbo trudged over to them.
"Okay, that's enough of that. Let's just go take a tour inside the castle before Ranboo's hand gets crushed."
"Great idea, Tubbo." Phil chuckled. While Phil, Techno, Wilbur, and the driver went to put Ranboo's bags in the guest room, Tubbo had to take him around the place and had forced Tommy to go with them.
It had been a while. Tubbo had guided Ranboo through every last crevice of the castle, trying not to miss a single detail. As Ranboo listened carefully, Tommy trudged behind them dying of boredom.
"Why do you have to be so tall, Ranboo? You're taller than me." Tommy questioned, interrupting Tubbo in the process.
"Excuse me?" He responded.
"I'm supposed to be the tallest! Hell, you're even taller than Wilbur!"
"I mean I never asked to be like this."
