January 18th - 14 days after the break-up

The outside world looked a lot more different than she remembered.

She didn't even remember how long it has been since the last time she went outside voluntarily, because the last time that happened she came home with the worst intoxication of her life, was brought home by her ex-boyfriend and with the biggest headache no one ever asked for. She didn't wish to come back to the streets of London again, after that night, all she wanted to do was lay on her bed, go to sleep and wake up in Canada, where everything was peaceful and familiar and she could step into the streets knowing that there weren't any chances of her crossing paths with the only person she wished to not see. That is all that she wanted, but damn her and her responsibilities, for a couple more weeks she was stuck in this city while she still had shit to do.

The only thing that has gotten her out of the house for, were exams, and even with that, she spent her days between books, television, food, and heated conversations with her cousin, it was like a cycle that continued growing around her without her being able to control it. After that night, she was afraid that coming out to the real world would mean having another encounter with him, so she tried to evict that as much as she could if she could save herself some embarrassment, she would.

Although one thing was being precautious with herself (and her mental sanity) and wanting to avoid seeing that boy again, there was something else called being a good friend, a value that was very pronounced in her heart and that it controlled her in ways she didn't expect to, and when she had to support a friend she would. That is why getting out of the house for a friend was so weird and different. She was trying to be a good person, but it felt difficult after being locked inside her home for what felt like forever.

For the first time after the incident, she was getting out of the house voluntarily and for a friend, trying to show the best version of herself and be supportive, like she always was. She would never stop being a good friend because a boy broke her heart, that was just nonsense.

It was Marcus's first exhibition happening, his first art exhibition in a real museum at London Downtown, it was a big moment. While he started making art just as a hobby, he figured how to manage to be both a computer engineer and an artist at the same time, and someone bought that, it would be the first time he would ever be showing to the world two of his best talents, and she just couldn't miss it, not after all he's done for her.

She didn't remember about it in the morning, her only reminder for this event happened to Frank, who entered her room without knocking first and hurrying her up to go shopping, because he didn't have clothes that were elegant enough and on top of that he wanted to buy him a gift, only with that they have a whole evening of getting out of the house and she felt tired just by hearing the plan of the day, she didn't feel like going, she didn't felt excited at first, but seeing how hyped Frank was about the event, she didn't want to leave him aside when he was including her in the plan before anyone else. It was his boyfriend's big day, after all, he wanted to be there with him, and naturally, he wanted his cousin and best friend to be there along with him, she couldn't just say no to such a thing.

It all lead her to this. Here she was, standing in the middle of the cleanest and whitest museum she's ever seen, wearing her favorite yellow dress, standing along with her cousin and eating from the biggest catering she's seen in a long time while Marc was away and shining with his art somewhere around the place, and they waited for him, right around the food. It was the first time she has gotten out of her home and into a fancy event, and given the circumstances, it was strange, she felt like a stranger invading a foreign place, because she didn't belong to this world, she wasn't used to it. It was weird.
