NOVA ROSELLE

———

Saturday, 9:00PM

I shot up and panted heavily, looking around the place I sighed in relief as I see the familiar aspects of the library.

I placed my palm on my forehead and hissed at the pain. I then realised that Narcissa wasn't present and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Polly!" I shouted and immediately the house elf apparrated right next to me.

"Miss Nova!" Polly smiled happily, making me smile back at her. "You're awake, Polly had missed you." She chirped and I laughed.

"I've missed you too, Polly." I said truthfully and her ears flapped. "Have you seen Narcissa anywhere?" I asked her, slightly worried.

Polly's smile faltered and she looked around the room. "Polly has not. Do you want Polly to go find Mistress?" The elf questioned with certainty.

I shook my head. "No it's alright, Polly. I can find her." I was just about to move to stand up from the sofa when Polly stopped me with a shriek.

"Mistress said that Miss Nova is to ill to walk." The elf stated, fear in her eyes.

I smiled at her concern. "I'm fine, Polly. I promise you." I assured the elf and then threw the blanket off my body and swung my feet over the edge. The cold wooden floor made my toes curl and I breathed out to compose myself.

Polly watched from afar worriedly, hiding her eyes behind her ears. I held onto the edge of the sofa and slowly pulled my body upwards, I stumbled slightly then straightened up.

"Polly? Could you conjure a cane for me please?" I asked the elf, knowing that I wouldn't be able to walk without any support as subtle pain was still taking over my body.

She nodded and with a snap of her fingers a wooden cane appeared in her hands. She walked over to me and handed me it, I quietly thanked her and held onto the cane with one hand and slowly began to walk with it.

I smiled at Polly and then made my way out of the library, I could hear the elf making noises of worry which was then followed by tapping of feet against the wooden floor. Should've known I wasn't going to leave a worried elf's sight.

This is the second time I've left the library in weeks, the manor was so big that Narcissa forbade me wandering around the place as she thought I'd get lost. Even though I could've just casted a patronus if I ever did get lost, but she was a stubborn witch.

I laughed quietly to myself as I slowly made my way down a corridor. There were multiple of those in this huge place, so I really had no idea where to even start looking for Narcissa.

"Miss Nova, Polly really doesn't think this is a good idea." Polly trotted up next to me, she was quivering and looking around the dark-lit area.

"Polly I assure you I know what I've gotten myself into." I muttered, squinting my eyes and looking at the portraits on the walls. Some of them sneered at me and Polly, making her shriek in fear. I glared at them and continued my way.

"Cissa!" I called out, my voice echoed and I cringed at how loud and continuous it was. However, there was no sign of her anywhere.
