It was difficult being in love with your best friend and not being able to do anything about it. Gracie and Tonks had both told me numerous times that Charlie liked me back but I just couldn't act on my feelings, I was too scared that I'd lose him completely if he rejected me.

Last night the three of us had a reoccurring conversation, they tried persuading me to talk to Charlie but once again I told them that I couldn't do it. Surprisingly the next day they seemed to have dropped the topic, which they usually wouldn't do but I wasn't going to complain.

I was sitting by the black lake before with a transfiguration textbook in front me. I decided to use my free period to revise some spells for my next class. "Y/n!" A familiar voice called my name, I looked up to see Gracie running towards me. "Can you come with me to the library please? Tonks needs help with her charms homework."

"Yeah sure." I gathered up my things with the help of Gracie and we set off towards the library.

One minute I was walking through the halls in a discussion with my friend the next minute I was being pushed into a tiny, dark closet. The door slammed shut and I heard the lock click in place before I could even register what happened.

One of the first things I noticed was that Charlie was locked in here with me. I slammed my hand on the door, "Gracie let me out!" I yelled, "We have to go to transfiguration in fifteen minutes."

"No can do y/n/n." She yelled from the other side of the door, "you know what you have to do for us to let you both out." Tonks added, of course she was in on this too.

"You know as well Charlie." Adam's voice was heard.

Merlin I could kill them three. I sighed and turned around to face Charlie, it was only then did I realise how little space there was between us, a cheeky smile spread across his features as a strand of his hair fell in front of his eye.

That's when I remembered that I was a witch, I rummaged around in my bag, searching for my wand but the slither of hope I previously had faded away as I couldn't find it. Then it struck me, Gracie was the one who picked it up, she probably still had it.

"I'm guessing you don't have your wand." I assumed, looking up at Charlie. He felt around in his pockets for a moment before shaking his head. "Looks like we're stuck in here then." I commented leaning my back against the wall.

We stood in silence for the most of 10 minutes before he spoke up, "what do you have to do? I mean what were Tonks and Gracie talking about?" He asked, we were purposely creating as much distance between us as possible, which was only about 30 centimeters.

"I could ask you the same thing." I retaliated, he let out a small laugh. "I asked you first."

I playfully rolled my eyes, I did basically walk right into that one. "I don't know what they're on about." I lied quietly, if a miracle happened and I did have the confidence to tell him the truth I certainly wasn't going to do it in a cupboard. "What about you?"

"I don't know either." He matched my tone.

I glanced down at my watch, transfiguration had just begun, "well we're officaly late for class and it doesn't look like they're coming back any time soon." I pointed out with a small sigh.
