Relief.

Relief was the only word to describe Sam's feelings.

The blonde's chest was heaving, tears streaming down his bright pink cheeks as he locked eyes with one of his childhood best friends.

Nate seemed frozen for a moment- mouth hanging open slightly as he surveyed the scene. Two people were dead. Shot. Murdered at Nate's hand.

He snapped out of it fairly quickly though, shoving the gun into his back pocket as he ran towards his friends.

"Nate..." Sam murmured- as a sob of pure relief shook his body.

"It's alright man, it's okay..." Nate breathed as he reached them, turning to the brunette first whose head was hanging limply on his chest.

"Colby? Colby dude, hey- you good man?" Nate tried, shaking his friend's shoulders gently as the brunette's eyelids fluttered open lazily.

"Colby... is he- Nate what's-"

"He's good Sam, he's fine...." Nate replied as the man in question hauled his chin up from his chest and blinked lazily.

The blonde deflated at that- body going lax in the chair as he tried to control the river of tears that were still steadily cascading down his cheeks.

It took Nate a moment or two to untie Colby, having to go into the kitchen and retrieve a knife to literally saw the rope away from the brunette's skin.

Colby- as confused and shaken as he was; managed to rise to his feet, and Nate left him to quickly do the same for Sam.

"What happened- I don't..." the brunette began, swaying slightly on his feet but catching himself.

"The fucking spell... it worked," Sam replied, voice muffled as he winced at the banging sensation returning to his head.

The blonde's adrenaline was slowly seeping away- leaving the foul sickness he'd woken up with.

Colby finally locked eyes with his best friend as Nate managed to free one of Sam's wrists. The two shared a look- a look that was so common with those two. Fondness, softness, gentle.

Sam wanted to continue the look, he really did. He wanted to carry on this silent conversation he was holding with his life-long friend but geez- his head was really pounding. His body was going cold, but he could feel the sweat building on his temples and on his back.

When he felt the last bit of rope fall from his skin, he hauled himself up- and just like before; he staggered- the room spinning as Nate and Colby launched forwards to catch him.

"Woahhh easy, easy Sam," Nate instructed, grabbing one of the blonde's arms and flinging it around his shoulders.

Colby was standing on the other side of him, a gentle hand resting on his back and the other holding his forearm lightly. Concern glistened in his ocean blue eyes and Sam couldn't help but acknowledge the twinge of guilt in his gut- that he was worrying his best friend, yet again.

The brunette lifted a gentle hand to the blonde's forehead, wincing as his skin made contact.

"He's burning up..." Colby muttered to Nate as Sam whined pitifully.

"We need to get him to the car, c'mon just; grab his- yeah like that," Nate told him, as the brunette was lifting the other blonde's arm to link around his shoulders.

And like this they slowly started to shuffle towards the door, the two boys carrying the majority of Sam's weight as the blonde tried his best to make his heavy feet move one in front of the other.

As they reached the door, Colby stopped walking- looking back at the mess, destruction and... death, they were leaving behind.

"What... what do we do about the- uh," Colby mumbled, head motioning to the two bodies lying sprawled out on the floor.

Nate shook his head, continuing to walk forward, colby falling into step.

"We're going to get the fuck out of here, I've got us a flight in 3 hours- let's just get him in the car," Nate breathed, as they approached the silver rental Nate must have gotten earlier.

They opened the back door, helping the barely conscious blonde into the backseats, Colby climbing in with him in order to make sure his best friend stayed upright.

Nate was quick as he leapt into the driver's seat, starting the engine and shooting out of Richard's driveway.

Sam was leaning his head against the window, a little circle of condensation forming where his warm breaths collided with the glass.

They were silent, each male each trying to process what had just happened.

It was a good 10 minutes until Colby broke the silence.

"So... I'm the most important in the world to you?" the brunette asked carefully, turning to look at his best friend.

A slight smile tugged at the blonde's lips as he opened his eyes- with some struggle, but he got there in the end. His voice was scratchy and quiet, but colby heard it loud and clear.

"Of course you are. You're my brother, dude. Forever and always."
