Nothing is as it seems

Chapter 16

Haz nods and you walk to the bar that is in the golf club. You notice that a young man sits down next to you and smiles at you. "Hey," he says with a smile on his face, which automatically makes you smile too. "Hey," you reply, "This is going to be weird, but you're really pretty," he says to you, which makes you blush. "Thank you, that's something you don't hear every day" "I don't think so, with a beauty like you, it's only possible to say that every day", now you're getting even redder, so you look down at your hands. "May I ask what your name is?" "I'm Y/N and you are?" but before the cute guy can answer, two people stand in front of you.

As you look up, you see it's Tom and Haz. "Can I help you guys?" he asks, a little intimidated, but not wanting to show it, which doesn't quite work. "Can I ask what you're doing here with my sister?" he asks with a sharp undertone. "Haz, we were just talking," you say to him, now looking at both of them. Your back is to the cute boy, what you don't realize is that he's looking you up and down. Tom tenses his jaw and gives him a very nasty look. "Weren't you going golfing?" you say now annoyed, rolling your eyes.

But he pulls you outside by the arm and walks with you to your car. You tear yourself away and give him a nasty look now. "Damn it Haz! I'll never meet anyone and fall in love like this," you yell at him now. Tom just stands by the car looking at his phone. "You don't need anyone! They'll all break your heart. So-" but he suddenly stops talking and you realize who was watching you the whole time yesterday. "He wouldn't have broken my heart if Tom hadn't called me! Who knows, maybe I could have slept with him and started a family with him!" you yell at him now because it's annoying to you that you don't get to meet anyone. "God y/n! Don't you understand that I want to protect you? Do you think it's easy for me when you come home crying and I can't help you because some asshole broke your heart?" when he said that, you suddenly feel bad now because you never knew how Haz felt.

You hug him and tightly and put your head against his chest. "Luckily I only have brothers," Tom now gave out. You both rolled your eyes. "I best go home so you guys can play golf," you now say and walk right of your car. "Y/N will you please pack your bags? You'll be picked up at 5pm today and taken to the airport," Tom says, looking away from his phone now too. "What are you flying away with her for?", Haz asks now confused and Tom got kind of nervous. "I'm getting an award and then there are important matters, I need Y/N her help" "Don't forget what we were talking about though!", you look confused at Harrison, and Tom who just nods.

"Now go ahead and have a nice game", the two of them take their things and head out to the golf course, while you are about to get into your car, but the cute boy from just now calls your name. "Hey Y/N, wait a minute please" and came running to you. You smile at him and roll down the window of your car. "You again. Now you can tell me your name" you smile at him friendly. "I'm Jack" "Nice to meet you Jack, why did you want me to wait?" you ask him, noticing that he is getting nervous and starts to play with his fingers. "C-Could I possibly, get your number?", he asks nervously, his fingers sweating a little but still he smiles at you slightly.

Somehow, you think it's cute that he's so nervous. "Sure, give me your phone," you say to him and he immediately hands you his phone. You type in your number and your name and then hand his phone back to him. "I'll text you," he smiles up to his ears and leaves. You roll up your window again and turn on some loud music. When you arrive at your apartment, you take your suitcase and pack your things, but you think about how long you are actually staying in London. Tom hasn't told you about it, so you text him. As you put your phone away again, you start packing. After half an hour your phone rings, you look at it and see that it's Evie. "Hey Ev, what's up?" you ask her, putting your phone on speaker so you can keep packing. "We haven't really seen each other in a long time, do you have some time now?", she asks you.

"I'm so sorry Ev, but I'm with Mr. Holland, in London the next few days" she remains silent for a short moment. "Do you have something to tell me?" she asks you now. You think about it and actually you haven't told her anything about getting the job. "You know what? Why don't you come around now and we'll talk before I leave" "I'll be with you in twenty minutes" she squeals quickly and hangs up. You shake your head laughing and continue packing. You take normal clothes, but also some that are a bit more flashy. After twenty minutes the doorbell rings and you quickly open the door. Evie comes in, hugs you and immediately pulls you onto the couch.

"You have to tell me everything now, but really everything". You don't know where to start at first, but begin at the point where you met Tom in the office. You prefer to keep it to yourself that you slept with Tom. "So it is true that he is a player after all. But do you have a picture of him?" she does ask afterwards, grinning at you. "Oh um wait. Haz sent me a picture of the two of them"

The Photo

You show her the picture and she makes very big eyes. "I thought he was hot, but not like that! That's your boss?", you nod at her and now she's grinning at you with another smile. "What are you looking at now?" you ask her and she moves closer to you. "Girl, he would be perfect for you. It's just too bad he's a player." You are quiet, which makes her think. Now she jumps up and looks at you. "You slept with him!"
