I came to live with my grandmother. I always loved to run away from home at night and walk until dawn, because I appreciated the quiet atmosphere of loneliness when I wandered around in silence, without anyone disturbing me.

One very early morning, I sat down on a wooden fence, that was surrounding a large field covered in mist and dewdrops, and stared at the view, enjoying the muted sounds of nature. Crickets sitting in the tall moist grass screeched quietly, light wind haunted the tops of slim trees standing in the field, and the birds chirped peacefully on the fragile branches.

Everything around seemed so hypnotic; the thick field with the light blue sky in the background, the fading dusty moon and the warm mist...~

...

"How beautiful...~" I whispered to myself.

A moment of pure silence reigned over me but was soon disturbed by the sounds of quiet footsteps. They chimed out somewhere from aside and became clearer within each second. I turned my head and saw a silhouette which revealed a young boy with light complexion and long straight hair of a black color that faded to mint green as it approached his waist. He had large empty-looking mint-green eyes which flashed a small glimmer of pureness as he glanced at me while walking with his face down.

He sat down on the fence next to me and just gazed at the sky, looking at the the pale blue clouds that instantly flamed up in the color of orange as the rising sun lit them up from below the vegetated hills. I inhaled the fresh cool air and stared into the distance, not wanting to make this situation somewhat awkward.

...

"The clouds are beautiful..." His quiet gentle voice rang out.

"They sure are...~"

...

"What's your name?" I asked him after about ten seconds before taking my eyes off the sky to unnoticeably look straight at his face from behind a few strands of my hair.

"It's Muichiro."

...

"Nice to meet you." I continued, watching the clouds glisten in the reflection of his voided eyes.

"Mhm."

He lowered his gaze at me and examined my complexion with a sort of confusion while I looked at him and realised that he seemed so natural and calm compared to other people that I knew. It was... pretty nice seeing someone like him... He looked so God-like, that it made me drift away from reality. The way he looked at me was so... delightful in a way.

...

"Do you live here? I haven't seen you around before."  He questioned me as his eyes drove back to the field.

"No, I live up there on that summit..." I replied as I turned aside and pointed to the top of the mountain that menacingly stood near us.

"I'm visiting my grandmother here."

"It must have a good view from both sides up there on the mountain..." He commented.

"Yeah.."

...

"Tell me more about yourself, you're quite an interesting person..." I asked, fiddling with a dried spikelet I picked from the field as an awkward pause hung over us.

We both shared some more information about ourselves, and it turns out that Muichiro lives here with his twin brother named Yuichiro. I noticed that he was an air-headed boy who seems to constantly wander off in his thoughts and is unable to focus on anything, but I still found him quite mysterious and even a little cute in person, so it was a pleasure to talk to him.

"Do you come here often?"  I questioned him, trying to keep the conversation alive.

"Sometimes."

...

"Ah... I forgot that I must go to training... Would you like to meet again tomorrow?" He questioned.

This odd feeling appeared inside my stomach when he innocently offered me to meet again, that I froze with a tiny, barely noticeable smile on my face. I wasn't the most interesting person to talk to, I don't think, so I don't know if I caught his attention or not, but something fluttered inside me once he simply asked that question.

"Of course, it's nice to spend time with you, I'm glad that I met you."

He smiled.

His smile was certainly the sweetest thing I've seen in a while...

"I'm glad I met you as well."

...

"Do you live far from here? Should I walk you home?" He offered me as the rays of the rising sun began to crawl out from behind the bushy trees from afar.

"I live quite close, but I wouldn't mind if you walked me over"

I felt my cheeks slowly heat up as he kept staring at me with those wide eyes, and after sitting for a few more seconds on the fence, he turned around and jumped off, holding out his hand as a sign of helping me get down. I grasped it as I hopped back onto the rocky ground and held onto it a few more milliseconds before releasing it.

His hand was so cold...

Yet addictive...

...

He trailed next to me as I headed towards my house, guiding him along. We walked in pure silence. None of us spoke, we wouldn't dare to interrupt the breathtaking sounds of nature.

...

"We're here" I said, stopping at a gate that revealed a simple traditional Japanese house.

"I'll try to remember this place."

...

"Well, see you tomorrow, then?" I questioned, witnessing Muichiro nod.

"Mhm. Goodbye." He mumbled as I waved to him, entering the territory of the house while watching him turn around and slowly fade away into the weeping willows growing nearby, after what I returned back into the house and silently went upstairs to my room without waking anybody up.
