CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE,
home for now.

Aiden glanced at Maggie who laid in the backseat, the woman has cried herself sick. Aiden sighed and leaned her head against the window.

The woman in the drives seat sent a white km glance at Aiden, "hey, you okay?"

Aiden scoffed, "what do you think, Sash?" Sasha nodded to herself and looked back at the road.

Shortly, the women arrived at the Hilltop. The gate was opened for them and Aiden got out of the truck. She held her stomach and leaned against the truck.

"Sasha! Aiden!" She heard a voice. She opened her eyes and saw Jesus rushing towards them. Sasha rounded the truck and made her way to stand beside Aiden. "What the hell happened?"

"Negan. He beat Glenn and Abraham to death." Aiden breathed out. "He took Daryl."

Jesus watched the mom-to-be closely. He had known her long enough to know she was strong and well composed. But seeing her now? Like this? With tears in her eyes, blood splattered on her face, her hand gripping Sasha's. He realized that she was just a broken as the rest of them.

"I'm sorry." He said to the two.

"Maggie's in the back. We- we were tryin' go get her here. Something's wrong with her and the baby. She's sleepin'." Aiden said to the man.

"We have their bodies." Sasha then spoke up. "Can we bury them?" Jesus nodded.

"I'll show you where." Jesus told her.

Aiden sat in front of the two graves. She toyed with Shane's chain.

Glenn.

Abraham.

Brothers until the end.

"I never got to tell," she started, "the kid's middle name is Glenn." She smiled down at the grave on her left, "Elliot Glenn Dixon. After one of the best things that ever happened to me. Glenn-" she let out a cry and buried her head in her hands.

She took a deep breath and looked up at the sky.

Maybe she expected to see green balloons float by.

Maybe this was all just a really bad dream.

That's what she wished it was.

"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I'm so sorry. Both of you- you didn't deserve that." She let her tears fall.

"Aiden." Her head shot up and she saw Sasha fun Maggie.

"Maggie," Aiden smiled at the woman. She struggled to push herself off the ground so Sasha quickly made her way to help her up. Maggie and Aiden locked eyes and Maggie's blue eyes filled with tears. "Come 'ere."

Aiden pulled Maggie into her side, hugging her that way so her very pregnant belly wouldn't get in the way. "Which one-"

Aiden pointed at the grave farthest from them. Aiden let her go. Maggie kneeled by his grave and Sasha went down beside her. She held out something to Maggie.

A pocket watch.

Hershel's old pocket watch.
