Violet and Ashley sneaked off campus and walked to the local junkyard.
"This is where you wanted to take me?" I ask.
"Not quite." Ashley answered.
The two girls walked through a junkyard, towards the train tracks.
"What are we doing?" I laugh.
"Just wait, it's almost here!" Ashley exclaimed.
Violet stared at her in confusion, furrowing her eyebrows.
Suddenly, a loud train whistle approached them.
"Look!" Ashley pointed.
Violet turned her head and saw a train coming their way.
"That's what we're doing?!"
"It'll be fun, i promise! Come on, don't chicken out now!" Ashley reassured me as she gave me a playful shove.
"Oh please. This isn't my first rodeo." I scoff.
The train was going a pretty decent speed to try and get on.
"Alright, let's go!" Ashley exclaimed as she took my hand and ran towards the moving train.
"Jump up right here!" She yelled to me.
Ashley jumped up and quickly grabbed Violet and pulled her up onto the side of the boxcar.
They panted as they looked at each other for an awkward moment.
Their breathing calmed and a silence casted over the both of them.
Ashley took a seat on the edge of the boxcar, her legs dangling off of the train.
"Take a seat Parker, the view is amazing." She smiles at me, then turns her gaze away from me, admiring the view.
"Oh, um...okay."
We were silent for a few moment.
"Can i ask you something?" I hesitate.
"Of course." Ashley nodded.
"Why are you still talking to me?" I ask.
"I mean...you're the last person i expected to want to hang out with me." I awkwardly laugh a little.
Ashley hesitated, "because everyone in this town sucks, and i just have a good feeling about you.
Ashley smiles at Violet, then turns her gaze down at their dangling feet.
"Thanks...you're not so bad yourself." I blush.
She smiles for a moment.
"I bet you're wondering what we're doing." Ashley asks me.
"The thought occurred, yeah." I say sarcastically.
"Well...i wanted some company."
"That's it?" I ask surprised.
"That's it."
"Well it beats spending another second at Eastwood." I scoff.
"Wow, you really hate it there."
"You don't?...Oh that's right, you're school royalty, what's there to hate about that?" I teased.
"You don't know me...yet." She says.
"Let's do something fun!" She continues.
"Okay, sure, what do you have in mind?" I asked.
