"Alright then, why don't you introduce yourselves? One at a time." Kakashi declared as they sat on the top of the ninja academy's roof.

"Introduce ourselves? What are we supposed to say?" Sakura asked immediately, anxious to make a better impression.

"Things you like. Things you hate. Dreams for the future. Hobbies. Things like that."

"Why don't you tell us first?" Naruto replied, intrigued. Dana discretely ruffled his hair with one hand, smiling under her mask. As if Kakashi was going to tell them anything personal.

"Me?" Their teacher wondered. "I'm Kakashi Hatake. Things I like and things I hate, hmm... I don't feel like telling you that." The blond and the pinkette gasped, surprised. "My dreams for the future..." He continued without minding the interruption. "Hmm... I never really thought about it. As for my hobbies... I have lots of hobbies."

The three teenagers looked at each other, puzzled.

"He didn't say anything." Sakura analysed as Naruto approved with a nod. His sister was still smiling beneath her mask.

"OK, you on the right, you first. Introduce yourself." Their senseï cut. The brunette couldn't believe he played it as if he didn't know who her brother was. He was known everywhere in the village, but more importantly, he was Minato's son, Kakashi's senseï's son. But after all, he never approached Naruto when growing up. He would only look after him watching from afar or asking Dana, the rare time they met, how he was doing. She sighed imperceptibly. She knew Kakashi felt ashamed for not being closer to her and Naruto, but that he didn't feel like he was good enough for it either.

Naruto introduced himself, talking about his passion for ramen and his dream of becoming the next Hokage. He shyly added that he loved his sister too, and everything she did for him. It was a general surprise – apart from his actual adoptive sister, of course, and Kakashi. Because no one – apart from the ones she was close to when her adoptive parents were still alive – knew about her. Minato always considered Dana as his daughter but never publicly introduced her as such for her own safety, never to explain where he had found her and where she was from. People having met them together thought as her as his student, that's all. So, it was a general surprise to hear that Naruto still had family. Kakashi felt his heart sinking a little. His guilt rose to the surface instantly. He should have had been there too. For her, for his senseï's child... But he had so much to deal with already, the Fourth Hokage's death had affected him so much that he did all he could to keep his head buried in his ninja work and forget about all this. He almost never saw Dana again, apart from the times he would watch her in the distance, when he spotted her walking down the hidden leaf's streets while he hide in some random tree, reading his favourite book. A few times he had felt the courage to go and talk to her eventually. The joy of seeing him he could see on her beautiful face made him feel even worst. If he had felt himself worthy enough, he would have been by her side any time. But it wasn't the case. He let those thoughts for later and focused again on his students:

"Your turn." He said to the cloaked silhouette.

"OK, well... Hi! I'm Ayane Kurosawa (meaning: "colorful sound" and "black swamp")." She had to come up with a new name to hide her identity. She didn't want Kakashi to recognize her so soon. "I like many things and I hate a lot of them too. I don't have dreams for the future, or maybe I do... Being a good ninja to protect the people I love, for example. To see my family fulfilling their dreams. And to see someone again." Naruto looked at her, a little surprised by her last statement, but didn't say anything. She had told him about an other brother she had long before his birth and that she was still looking for. "As for my hobbies... I think I have a lot of them too, even if my time is quite limited." She didn't explained herself. Sakura and Sasuke were still in the dark about her, wondering why they had a fourth member in their team. But they didn't say anything either. They ended to introduce themselves and then Kakashi announced that they'd have a survival exercise for the day after.

"But we already did that kind of exercise in the academy! What's going to be different about it? I thought we were supposed to begin real missions now!" The pinkette protested. Kakashi laughing annoyed her. "Hey, that's a normal question, what's so funny about it?" She asked.

"Well, if I tell you the answer, you're not gonna like it!" Kakashi giggled in a creepy manner. "Of the 27 gênin who had graduated, only 9 will succeed and continue as such, the other will go back to the academy." His tone didn't have anything amused in it this time. He stared at his students darkly. They froze. Dana took a lock of her hair between her fingers and began counting them. "Well, you're dismissed." He began going away but stopped. "Oh, tomorrow you'd better skip breakfast or... you'll puke." And he disappeared. The three teenagers were completely disoriented and discouraged.
