"But what happened?!" The genins asked for the hundredth time.
All the "ambush team" was now sitting around a long table at a dango shop, waiting for details. It was impossible to blame them, of course, since Shikamaru's plan had failed inexplicably, that Hinata was such a state of shock that she couldn't speak any more and that Sukea was nowhere to be found. But Dana just shook her head again:
"I'm sorry, there's nothing to say. Kakashi must have realized the ruse, maybe he saw or felt Sukea's presence and ran away, that's all. I'm sorry the plan didn't work guys. I'll pay for the dangos to make it up to you!"
No one really bought it, but free dangos convinced them. It wasn't going to be their last word anyway. Sooner or later, they would see Kakashi-senseï's face. No matter how.

The night had already fallen when the group went apart, each one returning to it's own occupation. Dana was going back home alone, for Naruto had decided to spare a little more before going to bed, when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. She hide a smile before turning to face her interlocutor.
"Good evening, Sukea. I thought you were long gone." She said casually, trying to figure out if Kakashi had realized she knew it was him beneath his disguise or not.
"Hi, Dana, sorry for earlier, I just remembered I had a very urgent thing to do." He lied with an apologetic smile. "Did the plan work, in the end?"
"Well it couldn't work without you taking the picture!" The brunette faked scolding him.
"I'm sorry... But with Shikamaru's plan, even without the picture, you all could have seen Kakashi's face at least." The man tried to argue.
"Not if the first part of the plan actually worked." Dana replied with a malicious smile. I've got him... she thought. She could play dumb too. Kakashi had faked not knowing she actually wasn't drowning to kiss her (in front of that poor Hinata, on top of that)? Well, she wasn't going to let him win so easily.
"What do you mean?" Sukea asked, his face reddening by the minute.
"You really went away before... that?" Dana insisted, putting a hand in front of her mouth as if surprised.
"That what?" The "journalist" said, now his face the colour of a beetroot.
"Well, when Kakashi-san kissed Naruto, of course!" She exclaimed, trying very hard not to laugh.
"WHAT?!" Sukea's scream had probably woken up half of the hidden leaf, and the brunette was much too happy with herself.
"Well, of course! You didn't see? He transformed into me before acting the drowned woman and Kakashi was so confused that he kissed him - me - to revive him - me. Unfortunately, he disappeared before Naruto could go back into his own self, so Kakashi is probably thinking that he really kissed me... So embarrassing, right? I don't know if I will be able to look at him in the eyes now!"
Dana was Anbu. She was very good at lying, even if she hated it normally. But just for this time, she was going to enjoy it. And seing "Sukea's" shocked expression confirmed it. The man stayed frozen for quite a while, incapable of speaking. When he finally recovered a little from his emotions, he was still stuttering.
"But... What... Naruto? Oh my..." Then he seemed to shook himself up a little. "Well, maybe this Kakashi guy does have a thing for you, you know, to kiss you like that. I mean, he sure looks like a tough opponent, he surely could see right through our plan, but seeing you must have confused him and so he didn't think twice before kissing "you"."
Sukea had regained confidence. He still wasn't sure if what Dana was saying was true or if she messing with him to punish him for having let them down (I would have known if I had kissed Naruto...), but he would take advantage of this. After all, he wasn't drying his eyes out with those terrible contact lenses for nothing. And this fake voice of his that was killing his throat...
"You think so?" Dana asked innocently.
"Well obviously!" Sukea insisted. "I mean, the only time I've seen you too together, he couldn't get his eyes off you.
Oh, you're pushing it, Kakashi... Dana thought. But she just kept a surprised expression.
"Really? I haven't see anything, we've known each other for so long now, I suppose it is hard to believe something could actually happen between us now."
"Is that true?" It was now Kakashi's turn to play the innocent. Sadly for him, he couldn't fool someone who already knew about his true identity. "Since when do you two know each other?"
"Mmh, let me see... I think it would be about 17 years, now." The brunette answered, deciding to use the truth card. "Kakashi was my adoptive father's student and I was knew in town so I'd stay with my dad all the time."
"New in town? You aren't from Konoha then?" Sukea insisted.
"No, I'm not even from the Land of Fire. But it is my home now. And I'd do anything to protect it!"
Dana's smile was so bright and sincere that it made Kakashi blush. He had to clear his throat a little before continuing:
"So, nothing ever happened between you and Kakashi?" He asked.
"What, you want to make an article about that?" The young woman replied, with a menacing stare.
"No! No at all!" The journalist stuttered. "It's just that, as I told you before, for what I saw I would have swore something was going on between you two."
The brunette looked at him for quite a while, her turquoise eyes shining in the moonlight, analysing the situation. What her next move should be?
"Well, if it really does interests you..." She began slowly. "Maybe I could tell you about my history with Kakashi-san."
Sukea only nodded, afraid to say something that would make her go back on her decision.
"Okay, then let me invite you for a tea, because this is going to be a long story."
(Not much to do with the story, but that picture made me laugh)
