But the fog was dissimulating their weapons and Dana still wore her cloak and mask. The rogue ninja took a step behind to evaluate his opponent.

"So, you've finally decided to show what you can do?" He smiled like a devil behind his ban-aids. "If I remember correctly, you almost didn't move a muscle in our precedent fight. Have you found some courage? Or have you trained with those brats and think you are strong enough to face me, now?"

"I always was strong enough to face you." Dana's distorted voice answered. "I just was surprise to see you again the first time."

The man seemed surprised, but wasn't one to think too much, the fight making his blood boil. He tried various moves with his sword, all stopped by the girl, before disappearing again in the mist to plan his next move. That's when she took the time to throw away her mask and her cloak, still completely hidden by the fog from the others.

Zabuza tried to hit Tazuna again but was stopped by Kakashi. He disappeared again before targeting Sakura. Dana reappeared in front of him. She didn't even had to counter his attack. Her big turquoise blue eyes defying him were enough. No one could see what was happening because of the mist and they could only hear the deafening sound of an enormous sword falling on the ground. The tension in the air thickened as everyone stopped moving. The noise had paused Haku, Sasuke and Naruto's battle too. The smell of blood intensified.

"Ayane!" Sakura yelled through the cold air.

Plic, ploc... Drops of blood were falling on the ground. The mist lifted a little so everyone could see each other's silhouette.

"Zabuza!" Haku screamed.

Dana's sword had pierced the grayish skin of her brother, but the young boy couldn't see with the fog that it was only a scratch. She hadn't meant to, of course, but she really hadn't expect him to drop his own sword like that. She took her blade out of the superficial wound and dropped her weapon too, rising her bloodied hands to her mouth, eyes wide.

"Ayane, what is happening?" Kakashi intervened. Had she never hurt an enemy before to react like that?

"Ayane..." Zabuza's voice was even horsier than usual. "Is that what they call you in Konoha?"

The girl chuckled lightly, tears invading her eyes.

"No... It's only my name for this team." She murmured.

"So it's really you, eh?" The man asked, eyes wet too now. "This isn't a trick, or a dream?"

No one was understanding what was happening. They still only could see the two silhouettes, close to each other but now unarmed. The bigger silhouette approached the small one and captured her.

For the brother and sister who just met again, it was a hug. For the other people around them, he was trying to kill her or make a hostage. Kakashi and Naruto, without thinking twice, ran towards the intertwined silhouette, ready to strike the rogue ninja. Haku made a move to stop the blond but was blocked by Sasuke. Most of the mist suddenly lifted and the leaf ninjas stopped dead.

Zabuza was hugging Dana, who had her face buried in his shoulder and her arms around his waist, and both were crying. What the Hell was happening?

A little voice suddenly broke the tensed silence, cutting through the thin mist:

"I tried, on my own I thought I'd get there. »
