One Saturday night, I sat in front of Lauren, Dinah and Greg in our rooftop pool as they laughed at all the crazy things they had done during their college careers. In the middle of everything I heard, I felt my heart hurt when I realized I didn't have much to add to the conversation. That my first semester on campus was one of the last, and I wanted it to last forever.
I don't want to go back on that damn ship...
While Greg and Lauren were swimming to the bottom and with Dinah following them, I took my phone from the deck and emailed my advisor.

SUBJECT: MY OPTIONS.
Mr. Hinton,
I would like to inform you that although I am very upset about the way my credits - and the information about them - are handled, I decided to choose the first option to complete the credits required for my graduation.
Since I have a 4.0 GPA and two letters of acceptance of graduate programs that were due to begin next fall, I would also like to request a written explanation from your office so that they can consider holding my place when I finish my undergraduate studies.
