Avery's POV

I awoken with in an hour later. Questioning again where my mother was.

The nurse looked at me, "We will tell you were your mother is. Please stay calm."

I nodded with wide eyes.

"She is still at home. You were hit with an object that made you pass out or go unconcious. We took you in the make sure you didn't get an type of concusion. Your eligible to go home, now," the nurse explained.

I thanked her and got out of the bed. I got into my normal clothes and walked out to the lobby of the hospital.

Mom was waiting for me, "Hey, sweetie!"

I smiled and ran over to the car, hugging her tight.

"I missed you," I whispered.

She hugged me back and kissed me on the forehead, "I missed you too."

We go in the car and drove back to the house.

"Ricky is still there," she sighed.

I signed too, "What were you guys fighting about?"

"What seemed like the one thing turned into everything," she replied.

I nodded as she pulled into the drive way.

We unbuckled and walked into the house.

"Ricky stop!" My mother yelled as he threw a glass vase at her, missing her by an inch.

They started going at it again. I took the phone, went into my room and called the police.

"They are fighting and he's throwing things," I cried.

"Absuively or?" The cop asked.

"He hit and threw a whole bunch of crap at her," I replied.

I told them my address as we hung up. I stayed in my room as another phone rang.

I picked it up, "Hello?"

"Babe, what's the matter?" He said in worry.

I cried, unable to speak.

"I'm on my way," he hung up the phone and I did too.

I heard the sirens as I rushed out. The police knocked down the door as they arrested both my mother and Ricky.

"No you can't take her! She did nothing but defend!" I yelled.

They didn't listen.

They walked them out of the house and put them into the car. I cried against the window, watching them drive away with an innocent women. The innocent women I call mother.

I sobbed for minutes on end which seemed like!e forever. I heard Johnnie pull in as he ran up the stairs and stormed into the house.

He picked me up and held my face gentle, "Darling, what's wrong?"

He didn't care how the house looked, he only cared for me.

"My mom got-got taken away to jail an- and I just got out of the hospital because- Because," I sobbed.

He nodded, "Okay, keep going."

"Because something hi- hit me and I-I went unconscious," I went into his arms.

"Alrighty baby," he soothed, "I'll stay with you for the night."

He picked me up and brought me to my bed, putting my down and cuddling up against me.

As soon as I got comfortable in his arms, I slowly drifted off.
