Warning: This is just a recount from when i went to the hospital but i overexagerated it lol. Warning for doctors.
Youre awoken by the sound of heavy breathing, and a pain in your chest. Wheezing and panting, unable to get far without dropping to your knees, you call half-heartedly for your mother. "Mom! Mom!" You yell tired and drained. After explaining the situation, you reach to your phone so that you can check the time. 11:25. You lift your half slumbering body up and drag yourself to your mothers room so that you can get it over with. "Is there any pressure on your chest? Are you coughing? Can you check your oxygen?" You answer them as honestly as you could, before the test ended. "Are you okay to go to sunderland hospital on your own or do you want us to send an ambulance?"
"We have transport, thankyou." Your mother answers, just as shattered and worried as you are. She holds your hand in hers, large and warm before you both head to the kitchen and wait for your grandad to respond. He does so almost immediately, only leaving 15 minutes before hes at your door ready. You hop into the seats of the darkly coloured car, choosing the back as usual as the cold leather heats up beneath you. Only a little while longer before you arrive at the building, big and fancy. You get out, wincing at the street lights as the cold wind claws your skin. Making the most of your black coat, you snuggle in tight before being hit by the warmth and light behind the automatic doors of the hospital, hyper sensitive to your surroundings, you pick out a few things. The white flooring beneath your feet, dotted with colourful markings, the orange lights above your head and their electric hum, the uncomfortable green childrens seats that had paterns etched into them from the many people who had sat before. Your mother advised you to sit down near the window as she finishes talking to the receptionist. Hours had past by this point, watching people go in and out of the toilets, buying candy bars and drinks from the vending machines, entering and leaving the hospital doors before finally... "Emma Burgess to the office, please." You spent no time getting up and going to the doctors office for your test. When you entered, a woman sat at the table and introduced herself. "Hello, im nurse Davis and im going to be taking your first set of tests. If you would sit up for me please?" You didnt understand. First set of tests? How many more could there possibly be? Either way, you complied as she stuck a piece of plastic in your mouth. Taking it out she looked concerned, before placing a small plastic clip on your finger. After getting your reading, she gave you a plastic bracelet with the name 'Emma Burgess' on it and the date underneath. Looking across the room for a final examination you see childrens drawings, ones of robots and unique animals along them to help calm the children who had been taken here in emergency. "Ill let you go now, the doctor wont be long." You nod as your mom leads the way back to the waiting room for what felt like years.
