A dark room

Was I dying?

Maybe.

---------------

Pain. That's the first thing I felt. Everything was blurry, I was dizzy, and the smell of blood filled my senses.

I tried to stand up but I was tied to something. The pain was horrible causing me to hold back a scream when my hand touched the wound. It had been sloppily tied up in an attempt to stop the bleeding. My vision had gotten a little better but not great. I realized I was tied to a chair in a dark room with dim lighting.

Where was the guy? Where was I? How long was I out?

Before I could stress more about the questions in my head I heard footsteps. I couldn't tell where they were coming from but they wouldn't stop. Soon it got to the point where I was itching with anticipation and fear.

"Where are you!" I shouted into the darkness. The footsteps seemed to go faster. I was trying to turn to see behind me, causing my arm to hurt more.

"STOP IT!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

The footsteps stopped.

"Did I scare you?" I would have jumped around five feet in the air if I weren't tied to a chair.

"You wish." I lied after my soul returned to my body.

He laughed without humor. "Your funny,"

I couldn't see him because he was behind me which was annoying.

"Do you want something from me? Or were you just bored and decided to go on an impulsive shooting spree you sick b-"

"Well yes and no. To be perfectly honest, I have been watching you, Capri." This made me stop struggling. Watching me?  What did that mean?  How long had he been watching me? Was he lying to scare me?

"You're smart. You're like me." He continued.

"Wh- No- You don't-" I stuttered out while he stood behind me in silence. "How?" I mumbled.

"Oh, you wish. All you need to know is that we're the same,"

I wanted to be anywhere but here. Some part of me wished that I had bled out already.

"No,"

"No?"

"You're a sociopath!"

"What's the difference?"

"You weren't born this way! You chose this!" I shouted at him.

He winced tried to hide it with a scowl. "I see you've done research."

I dropped my gaze to the floor refusing to talk anymore. I heard his footsteps walk around until I saw his feet standing in front of me and felt my head jerked up by my hair. I bit back a yell. My arm was numb from below where it was shot-so basically my whole arm. The rest was a painful ache. I still stubbornly continued to stare at the ground.

"Yes, they'll be here soon," I heard the guy say after some distorted voice came through a walky-talky or something. How many people were a part of this?

"Who?" I blurted.

"Your parents, silly."

"What!?" My head shot up. "DON'T YOU DARE LAY A FINGER ON THEM!"

He scowled at me and shook his head as he held up a fist and hit me square in the jaw which was enough to knock me out cold.
