Chapter 8

And so the following week would become the strangest week for Yumi. Shinsou started to wake up earlier and walk to school earlier than her, leaving his dorm neighbor behind. Yumi opened the doorwith an insult ready for Shinsou when she realized he wasn't there. She waited another few minutes, wondering what could possibly be taking him so long. Combing his hair? Doubt it.

She walked ahead, leaving that rat nest of a jerk behind. She waltzed into class and was appalled to see him already at his seat, playing on his phone. She blushed in humiliation as she realized she waited on him for no reason! She stomped to her seat, her tail a dead give away at how upset she was since it swished around back and forth. She was about to put her head in her desk when she noticed a gift on her desk. It was a bag of her favorite breakfast on the go: a tuna sandwich with her strawberry juice. Her mouth watered at the sight before stopping to look around to see who gave her such a delicious gift. No one else seemed to know who it was from. But who even knows her favorite breakfast? She usually gets up early to make it before heading to class. She shrugged as she nibbled on her breakfast, still wondering who knew that much about her. As she lifted the strawberry juice from her desk she noticed a note under it. A simple note with the words "from an admirer."

"Oooh looks like Yumi's got an admirer!" Said Ochako as she sat down. Yumi looked up at Ochako, blushing a little from the note.

"I guess so." She said with a smile.

"Do you know who it is?"

"No but...." Yumi started having conflicting feelings again. It feels good to have a crush, especially when most guys only want skinny girls. But she already decided for herself that she could never have a mate, so dating would lead to nothing. But, having someone who knows this about you, and went so far as to buy it and get to class early just to leave the gift there before she could see them. That's definitely something to admire from this admirer.

"But what?" Said Mina as she took a look at the surprise Yumi got.

"But um... nothing, it's nothing." Yumi bit into her sandwich to stop talking.

"Oh mon dieu! How romantic!" Stated Aoyama as he too saw the note. Yumi blushed as she chewed, her ears drooping down from all the attention as more students noticed what was going on. They all asked if she knew who her admirer was. She shook her head and said she had no idea who it was. Her tail swayed slowly, a bit excited about who this admirer could be. After she finished her breakfast she took the note and placed it in a small pocket of her backpack, careful not to lose it.
