I think everyone is familiar with the feeling of being watched. Something at the back of your head, neck and the whole of your back tingles while being watched. Goosebumps would usually be really prominent, you'd think of everything and anything that could be wrong at that moment.
Who is watching me?
Why are they watching me?
Do I have a stain on my jeans?
Is my hair matted?
Does my hair even look okay?
Is my outfit that horrendous?
But today, going through the school's main hallway, the stares were even worse. All eyes were on Wade and I, the two of us still being the main attraction to the school. Being new really does have a good and a bad side. The stares are a really bad one.
Hushed whispers could be heard, fingers being pointed at us in a way that is not discreet at all, laughing and mocking, every single thing that happened in the minute of us walking to our lockers made me shrink a bit into the ground, feeling slightly embarrassed and uncomfortable over nothing.
Wade clearly noticed that something was up with me, so he squeezed my hand and we arrived at our lockers, which were thankfully next to each other with only two other ones in between ours, hand in hand. If you didn't know us you'd probably think that we were dating.
"Just ignore them, let's get headed to class.", said Wade while getting his books from the monotone inside of his locker. Looking back from him to my locker, you could see a huge amount of decorations. Pictures of my favorite celebrities, rainbow stickers, mirrors, pictures of my friends, little notes, snippets from songs, lyrics, literally everything related to me. We are so different, but somehow still the same.
Taking my own books for class, I gave him a short nod, not having any strength to use words to reply. We started walking in silence, me trying to ignore the curious whispers and Wade striding like he owns the place, winking at more than one girl.
Giving his chest a push, I start joking around with his idea of what flirting looks like. "Oh come on dumbass, you can do better than wink at a girl. What have Mia and I taught you all these years. Do not make me tell her this.", I say with a giggle trying to sound serious, but miserably failing when I look at his expression. A slight blush crept up on his face, making me laugh even more over his unusual embarrassment.
"Shut up. Someone might hear you.", he whisper yelled, looking around to see if anyone noticed us talking about his poor flirting techniques.
"Big guy, you really suck at this."
"Oh shut up now, says the girl that hasn't had a boyfriend since sophomore year.", said Wade proudly, thinking that his words made me feel bad about myself.
"I think you've forgotten how big my dislike for men is. And stop with the lies, I've been married for like 6 months now.", I proudly announced, smirking at his direction.
"Married?"
"Duh, don't tell me you forgot our wedding."
"Um..?"
"Wade...", I kept on joking, trying to make him realize how stupid he looks right now.
"Who are you married to? Have I missed a chapter or two?"Confused Wade really is my favorite type of Wade.
"To Misha, my one and only love."
"Misha who?"
"Misha Lare.", I said with a wide smile. I love being married to my comfort character. Men made by women really are my soulmates. My poor standards are so high because of this man. Misha, if you can hear me, I love you.
