Yuh, part two of the double update. Read Chapter Ten if you haven't already!

"You look disastrous.", chirped Mia as she stepped into my bedroom. I looked up at her grinning face and rolled my eyes, averting my attention back to the Biology assignment I'm working on.

"Thank you so much.", I grumbled.

She put down a cup of coffee on my bedside table and sat down on the edge of my bed, picking up a notebook and looking through my messy handwriting. I threw her a side glance and picked up the coffee, taking a long sip of the heaven in a liquid form.

"Long day?", she asked with a gentle smile on her face. Sometimes, I forget how nice of a person she can be. When she's not screaming through the apartment or putting empty cartons of milk back in the fridge.

"A long week.", I mumbled and laid my head on her lap. She started playing with my hair as if knowing that it'd relax me a bit. The soft pads of her fingers went through my wavy hair, untangling the knots I haven't had the energy to untangle.

"Where's Callan? I haven't seen him since yesterday.", I ask after a few minutes of her massaging my head, slowly opening my eyes, and looking up at her brown ones.

"He's away for some basketball tournament until Monday.", she said with a sigh. "The stupid boy makes me want to ditch school and go with him. He dares to leave me every single time."

"Boys are really shitty.", I laughed and Mia just rolled her eyes, mouthing 'Tell me about it', before I added, "We can hang out while he's gone."

Mia's smile got huge and she hugged me, "We need to watch some sappy movies and cry to them, fuck we haven't done that in a while."

I hugged her back and nuzzled my head into her neck, enjoying the warmth. As soon as I relaxed into her hold, a panicked-looking Wade burst through the bedroom door and gave out a long breath of relief.

"You fucking hoe, we were supposed to leave like right now.", he angrily said.

"Leave where?", I asked, trying to make myself look dumb since I really didn't want to go to the stupid paintball place.

"Stop pretending like you don't know what I'm talking about and start getting ready. I'm leaving now you can come to the paintball arena or whatever it is by yourself. I'll text you the address.", he added and left the room.

I groaned and started throwing my head against the pillow. Mia started laughing and I looked at her with a serious expression, but I couldn't hold a straight face for too long so I started laughing with her. With both of us laughing like maniacs, I realize that I've missed these moments so much.

"We'll hang out tomorrow. Go get ready and have some fun for yourself and for me too.", she kissed me on the cheek, picked up the now cold cup of coffee I forgot about, and got out of the room, leaving me alone.

I got dressed really quick, put on a pair of black sweatpants and a sweatshirt, tied my shoes, and groggily got out of the house. The thought of running and shooting people with a makeshift gun isn't really a thing I would do on a Saturday evening.

If I had the choice of choosing a perfect Saturday, it'd be me just sleeping all day, eating food, and watching romcoms until my eyes hurt and I fall asleep again. But, since no one is asking me what I want, I'm now getting out of my car and getting into the large building.

Right next to the entrance my friends were talking amongst themselves, all with harnesses around their legs and waist and secured plastic guns on their hips.

"There you are, I thought I was going to be alone with all these dumbasses.", Sophie says in relief and hugs me. I say hi to everyone else and glanced around at the people filling up the area waiting for the game to start. Wade helped me put on the 'armor' as he called it, and the gun in my hand was just being there, heavy and awkwardly sitting in my hand.
