The beginning [Part 3]

'Where am I...?

Oh right, all of that stuff from yesterday was real. I don't even know how I'll deal with this. I don't wanna deal with this shit... Fuck... I can't even pretend to be asleep since they'll be able to tell right away. Ugh. What a pain in the booty.

Also, why the fuck am I in a body of a 5 year old [probably] child...? Oh dear lord Satan...'

A medic came in to check on Veronica. Her wounds hadn't healed but she was better than before. He informed her of her condition and asked her to follow him to meet the Hokage.

'I really am in Naruto... I'll just go with the flow I guess.'

"How are you doing now child? I heard that you were found in a river nearby."

"Y-yes..."

'Its strange. Its like I'm doing some sort of hard exercise whenever I speak... I won't be able to talk for long if this keeps up.

Bitch. There's something wrong with your throat obviously.

Oh yea. Thx inner voice.

No prob.'

Veronica motioned for the blank papers and a pen kept on the Hokage's desk. He didn't seem to get why she would ask for them but allowed her to take a look. She quickly wrote something down and showed it to him.

<Is it alright if I communicate like this? I cannot speak properly.>

[A/n: If the text is like this <...> then the mc is writing.]

"Of course its alright, but what is wrong with your voice?"

<I do not know. It feels like I'm doing some sort of hard exercise whenever I speak.>

"I see. I will have the medics give you another check up then. Well, what is your name?"

<Veronica>

"Veronica? That is quite an odd name. Well, Veronica what happened for you to be so injured?"

<I was walking back to the orphanage when someone stabbed me. After that I woke up in the river.>

"I see, do you know which village you came from?"

<No. I do not remember much except a few things. I don't want to go back there if possible.>

"I see, would you like to stay here then?"

<Will I get food?>

"Y-yes, you will."

The Hokage gave a weary smile at her question. Veronica thought about it for a while and agreed to his suggestion.

"Um... Can I please... stay with the man... from yesterday...?"-Veronica

'If I wanna survive in this world full of monsters then I need to have the protection of someone strong  till I can be strong myself. Also a reliable teacher as well. Although Kakashi isn't really the best teacher but since the others will get suspicious of me if I ask for a person that I clearly shouldn't know of. Not that I could actually trust Kakashi. He was loyal to the village, while I am someone who could kill ever single person here for my goals. I'm not someone who can't feel love. I can love. But only those who earn my trust. I'm not even a wolf in sheep's clothing. I'm just a story teller.

Though I guess if I wanna be strong then it would depend more on my genes here. I'm not a genius and not even that gifted in any sort of martial arts. But this isn't my body and that thing with the water... Was it even water though? I didn't even feel like it was water. Maybe its an inherited trait of a clan this child was a part of? I'll think of that later.

Anyways, since they don't yet know if I'm a threat or not they will have someone keep an eye on me so this might just work.'

"Well..."

The Hokage saw the disappointed face Veronica and pitted the child. She didn't have parents and had gotten stabbed when she did nothing wrong. He sighed and summoned for Kakashi.

"I want you to act as her temporary guardian."

"But I-"

Kakashi glanced towards the said child and visibly flinched. Veronica was practically crying at this point. He also pitted her but taking care of a child just didn't seem to fit with him.

In the end he reluctantly agreed and brought the said girl to his house when he saw how she was in tears over his refusal.

'Always works.'

The walk was silent and Veronica's thoughts drifted to her past life.

I don't even know what's wrong with me anymore.

Veronica missed them. She had a large hole in her heart and she didn't know how long she could hold on. She didn't know what she was going to do from now onwards. She was lost.
