The beginning [Part 6]

'Its been a while since I showed that much emotion... I should keep my emotions in check. Someone could take advantage of me easily if I don't, especially in this world with so many dangerous people crawling around.'

Veronica didn't know what came over her but she got up earlier than usual and started to meditate. Ever since she had moved with kakashi, he would try to keep the house clean since he saw Veronica put a lot of effort in it. They had silently come to an agreement that they would wake up and split the chores in half although Veronica had to always help him.

But today he was surprised to see that she had left it all up to him. He sighed and decided to do it himself. Soon enough he noticed that Veronica was trying to build up her chakra reserves like he had asked her to once.

'She usually does it in the afternoon after coming back from school as a way to relax.'

Thinking this, he tried to find a reason behind her sudden change in schedule. However he soon shrugged it off deciding she must not have been able to sleep last night.

"What-"-Veronica

"I'm going to be making breakfast today. You don't have to worry about a thing."-Kakashi

Veronica could see him smiling underneath the mask.

<Ok...

Can I call you Kaka-san?>"

Kakashi sweat dropped at the new nickname and just nodded and went back to work.

After a while, Veronica poked him on his arm to catch his attention.

<I read your so-called 'books' by the way.>

He visibly flinched and Veronica could see a blush forming on his face. Well, more like what was visible of his face. He didn't know what to say and seeing this side of him made her giggle. Though she tried to control herself.

<Its ok. I won't tell anyone you're into these kinds of things perverted old Kaka-san.>

"N-no, I just read it cause of the plot!"-Kakashi

<The whole plot is about s*x.>

'This is fun~! Now I know why people like teasing and playing with others! I wonder how Naruto's gonna react~ Well, knowing him its probably gonna be real amazing.'

Little did Veronica realize that she had gradually started to open up to people. Kakashi noticed it and although he liked her being happy, he didn't like her reading his Icha Icha paradise.

Keep your face towards the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you.

Veronica headed off to school and was excited to talk to more people today. She also joined Naruto in one of his pranks which made Iruka-sensei very mad. He was happy to see Naruto make a friend and Veronica finding it nice and comfortable in Konoha though.

She met up with Hinata, Sakura, Tenten and Ino that day and they decided to have their own small girl gang. Although Sakura and Ino kept getting into a lot fights which Veronica sometimes found hilarious [because of the insults] and boring [because all they fought about was Sasuke].

Veronica knew that these girls had a LOT of potential but no one in this era thought of Kunoichi as strong. She knew for a fact that Sakura had potential for becoming a genjutsu master and still be a strong medic nin. Ino and Tenten could form one of the most formidable team consisting of both attack and support. Hinata had amazing martial arts but if she had a proper goal and a good training partner since when she was a child she could be even greater than Neji one day. Not only that, these girls could also master other chakra based attacks. They had good reaction timing and analytical thinking abilities to match as well.

Veronica had made it a goal to train these girls to the best of her abilities.

<No, no Naruto!!! You do not eat ramen as every meal you have!>

"But it tastes so good Vero-chan!!!"- Naruto

<It isn't healthy! How about this, I'll start teaching you how to cook and until then we can share our meals! You could even come over!!! I'm sure Kaka-San wouldn't mind!>

Naruto was very happy. This was the first time he'd be going to his friends house. He agreed happily and gave an even brighter grin than usual. If that was even possible.

<Oh right, he is a pervert so be careful ok? And don't read his books. They aren't for my innocent Naruto!>

Meanwhile, Kakashi sneezed and shuddered. He wondered who was talking about him.

"Are you alright my rival?! You shouldn't get sick so easily it is unworthy of my rival!"-Guy

Kakashi just nodded and went along with what he said. He was too tired today and couldn't be bothered to do anything. Well, he was tired everyday.

He thought back to his conversation with Veronica and couldn't help but agree with her.

Though he was very suspicious at a child her age thinking of such things but knew that sometimes children are forced to grow up. Seeing the wounds on her body when he first saw her he knew, that she didn't just get stabbed. He guessed that she either lost her memories or that whoever did those things to her had done something to make her forget.

She was almost dead by the time they found her. The medical nin had to heal every single injury of her body as it was in a vital place and a single mistake could end her life. Even then how she had healed in almost just a day was beyond anyone's comprehension.

Kakashi had seen her get accidently injured once and the wound required a normal amount of time to heal. He, or even herself Kakashi guessed, didn't know what was going with her body.

This was one of the reasons why the Hokage had agreed to let Kakashi take care of her. Since everything about her was unknown, Danzo or maybe even Orochimaru [If he hadn't been the one who did something to her in the first place] could go after her. The Hokage needed someone who he trusted and Veronica seemed to have let her guard down the most with him so he was the best choice.

'Her blood test should be coming in soon. We'll be able find out who she really is soon enough.'
