Impulsive escape

Liam's POV. 3am.

My body ached and I didn't feel good. I was shivering, freezing, yet on fire at the same time.

Aside from that, other than having been kidnapped, tied up and gagged, shot twice and sprayed with something that made me unable to shift, I was fine.

Okay maybe not so fine, but I wasn't dead. Yet.

I was so tired, my eyelids were heavy and I just wanted to sleep, but my mind was racing. Thinking about everything bad that might happen. They wanted me for my pup.

Oh god...my pup.

I hadn't really even thought about it as a pup yet. Just something growing inside me that was a result of unprotected sex.

Amazing sex.

Now though, it terrified me in so many different ways. Would I ever get to see or hold my pup? Were they gonna take it away from me immediately? What would they do to me after?

I wanted Theo. I needed him. I needed his warmth and protection. He always seemed to be able to calm me down. I really could use that right about now.

My body was shaking as I continued to shiver, tears were staining my cheeks, but I couldn't even hear my sobs over the ringing in my ears. I don't think I've ever been this scared.

I've almost been killed so many times, but now, thinking I might not see Theo again, that neither of us would get to meet our child, it terrified me.

I had to get out of here. I had to protect myself now more than ever. I heaved out, pulling at the rope around my wrists.

Come on, Liam. Concentrate.

Whatever they gave me was still blocking my supernatural abilities, but I'd heard that in times of crisis, even normal people can find the strength to lift cars. I could do this.

For my pup.

Suddenly, the rope was torn and my arms were free. I ripped the gag from my mouth and sat up, heaving in deep breaths as I worked at the rope on my ankles now.

The room spun as I stood, but I couldn't waist any time. I had no idea when anyone would be back to check on me. It was now or never.

I shuffled forward, reaching my arm out to find the door in the darkness. When I did, I quickly found the knob, turning it and peaking my head out. I didn't hear anything. Close by anyway. And there was just enough light in the hallway for me to see an exit.

Wow. For hunters they suck at keeping a good watch on their prey.

I stepped out into the hallway, still trying to listen for any signs someone was coming towards me. As far as I could tell, some people were on the other side of the wall, but not anywhere near me. Idiots.

As I scoffed, I moved forward, heading to what looked like a back screen door. I could smell the trees and dirt before I could make them out through the window.

Everything was still blurry, but I managed to find a handle and push the door open. It made a loud creak and I grimaced, hesitating only a second before just taking off, running as fast as I could.

I'd used my strength to get free, now I needed to use it to run. Even if I couldn't see clearly, I could smell. The weaker the hunter scent got, the safer I was. Right?

I had no idea how long I'd been running, or where I was. These woods weren't familiar at all and smelled nothing like Beacon Hills.

I assumed they'd taken me out of town, but I had no idea where. I had to keep moving though. At least until I found someplace to lay low. Then I could figure out how to contact Theo.

I was exhausted. My legs burned and so did my lungs. I felt nauseated and hungry at the same time. I was still clearly running a fever and even though I couldn't feel the night air in my current condition, it was making me shiver.

My stomach churned suddenly and before I realized what was happening, I was hunched over, throwing up.

Dammit.

With a shaky hand I rubbed my stomach. "It's okay...we're okay." I really wasn't sure what I was doing, but surprisingly enough, talking helped.

After catching my breath, I stood again, grimacing at the ache in my body. What I'd give to be home in bed right now. Cuddled up in Theos arms.

At this point it sounded like a fantasy. A dream rather than reality. Because my reality now was running from hunters while fighting off morning sickness.

Werewolf morning sickness.

Any trained hunting dog could track that scent. My eyes widened. Any wolf could too. Any werewolves. It may have been a dumb sence of hope, but I'd take anything at this point.

Until I could fully shift, I couldn't howl, which meant my scent was all I had. "Okay...we can do this. Someone will find us."

I rested my hand on my stomach, feeling something course through my nerves as goosebumps appeared on my skin.

My breath hitched and that's when I noticed it. A tiny sound. Almost like a light tapping. It made my heart swell and I hugged myself. "Hi. Oh, hi."

I was crying again. It was becoming quite normal at this point. I couldn't care less though, because for the first time, I was hearing a heartbeat. A second one other than my own. It was so small, so faint, but it was there. It was perfect.

I smiled, feeling the strength again to push forward and keep going. "We're gonna be okay. I know it. Don't you worry bout a thing."

I could do this. I had to do this. Focusing now on the heartbeat, I managed to keep pushing my feet forward as I kept walking.
