He climbed on top of a rock that was more than twice his size and moved his hands into a presenting position "ta dah! "

She laughed a little and shook her head. "Nice." She looked around again, "Where are the books?"

Deep inside " He climbed down and stopped at the entrance. He bowed and mumbled sorry for entering without being invited and then entered.

Elvira looked at him curiously when he did that. She stepped in after him

As they walked she could see portraits on the wall of a pale handsome man with long black hair in fancy clothes.

"Im guessing that's Strahd?"

"I once came with my father and sister to the castle to do work. And I saw Strahd standing in front of a mirror. And he didn't have a reflection at all. He was holding a glass and u could see the glass in the mirror but not him! " he said excitedly

"Wait so your saying he was a Vampire?" She'd heard that rumor but hadnt been sure about it

He nodded

"How long ago was that?"

Um. Years ago. It was before the adventurers came and did away with him.. I was younger then"

"When did that happen actually? I haven't really gotten a concrete answer for that" she pointed out

Like 3 or 4 yrs"

"Oh. Ok." That was pretty recent then. "What was he like? Do you remember?"

"He was definitely a royal. Everything he did was with purpose and I got to play a song for him once. He seemed to enjoy it. " he paused and smiled remembering something "He wasnt a monster. Just someone who cheated death is how my father would say" he laughed. He got to the library and walking in with her

Elvira studied him again. "You seem like you kinda idolize him."

"Well, I didn't used to. I think I took his existence for granted. But with what's happening right now.. " he sighed "as an outsider coming in you've only seen a small tip of the iceberg of the hate they have for us. They've completely chased and thrown us out of the village. Not that we need their stupid village anyways. We have to live far away from them in the forest to be SAFE" he was angry. It wasn't fair. "And we've never done anything to them! Its so chaotic now." Everything felt like a mess now compared to the ridged order that had existed under Strahd.

All these new outsiders kept coming in and so much change kept happening so quickly to his home. Some changes were good but there was just so much all at once so quickly. It was overwhelming. Even the weather had completely changed from cloudy, gloomy, cool and breeze to bright sunny heat. It was as if he couldn't recognize his home anymore.
"A-and I miss my father" he vented. Sharing what was on his mind before thinking it out, or so it seemed anyways. He seemed too upset to be thinking everything out.

"Did he?...." Elvira didn't finish her sentence.

"He wanted to settle down in a house. Put down roots..." He laughed weakly. "Thats not very Vistani like. But he said times had changed and so should we... They wore hoods but they're all the same ppl doing these attacks. They dragged him out at night and killed him." He didn't share anymore details than that. "So yeah. I miss when there was order and a Lord over the land. " he said a little defensive. He hugged himself as if it could shield from all the pain he felt in his heart. "They call us devil children of Strahd. They HATE us. " he sounded frustrated.

She picked up a book quietly, not saying anything for a minute. Then, "I'm sorry for what happened to your family." She looked at him. "It's wrong what those people are doing." She paused before continuing, picking her words carefully. "From what i've heard, at least some people think Strahd ruined their lives, enslaved them, hurt them. They're probably just angry and scared and maybe even jealous of the people he seemed to favor." She shrugged "But idk. I can't read minds."
