Josie entered the living room where Emelia and I were sitting.

She had just come out of Andrew's room. They had been talking for a while so hopefully they got somewhere with it.

"What did he say?" I asked Josie.

"I think you should go talk to him about it. It's not really my place to speak for him," she said, urging me towards his room.

"Alright," I said, walking past her to enter his room.

I was a bit nervous, but I was mostly just concerned with understanding why he was acting like this.

"Hey, Andrew," I said, not exactly sure what to say to him.

Hey, Kai," he responded.

"So..." I trailed.

"Yeah. So," he spoke. "I'm sorry. I've been acting like a jerk because I was angry at you. I don't know why I was angry and I know it's unusual for me to be that upset, but either way, I'm sorry. Josie explained it all to me. I'll stop acting like that. I don't want to keep hurting you and our friendship because I do eventually want to be friends again."

"Okay. Thank you for being honest," I responded. "I forgive you."

"I'm not ready to be friends yet, but I will stop being mean," he said.

"Okay. I didn't think you hated me or anything. I knew you were mad, but I'm glad you're stopping," I said smiling at him.

He smiled back and pulled me into a hug.

"Thank you for being understanding. Again, I'm sorry. I'll be ready soon," he said with his arms still wrapped around me.

"Good," I responded, pulling him closer to me.

"Alright, you have to go now. I'll see you soon. I promise things won't be like this forever," he said warmly.

"Alright. Goodbye," I said walking out of the room.

I almost teared up after walking out, but this time they were happy tears. I was really relieved to hear that he was going to stop being so mean and that he would be coming back at some point.

I walked into the living room with a smile on my face and Emelia and Josie cheered lightly.

"It went well, right?" Emelia asked.

"Yes," I said smiling. "He apologized and he assured me that we would be friends again at some point. Even if it takes time."

"Yay!" Emelia squealed and hugged me.

She was possibly more excited to see that Andrew had apologized than I was.

Josie smiled, patted me on the back and then disappeared into her room where Jeffrey was.

"Would you like to cook with me?" Emelia asked.

"Sure. Cook what?" I responded, a bit confused.

"You'll see," she responded mischievously.

We ended up cooking some insane soup thing that she concocted from ingredients she found around. It was actually really good and I had a lot of fun making it with her even though I spent half of the time confused.

The next couple of months went by relatively fast. I spent a lot of time with Emelia getting to know her and doing all of the other things that couples do.

I understood why Josie and Jeffrey spent so much time together. Emelia was intoxicating. She was addicting.

Andrew also came around after about 2 months. It took longer than we both had thought it would, but it was better that way.
