My eyes are as open

As the gentle breeze

That carry your wings

Between the trees

Trees that hold

Your young in their arms

Trees that you trust

Never to bring harm

As you soar unafraid

You glide effortless as silk

With divine angel wings

That shine white as milk

Like a dancer you know

This motion by heart

Like a dancer you know

This motion is art

By the rhythm of your wings

You are lost to the sound

Of the symphony you create

With the other songbirds around

You wear majesty and freedom

Like soft velvet and lace

You are the wind taken shape

You are feathered grace

Though I only admire you

From a few feet below

You bless an entirely other world

To which I can never go

And I will wish to join you

In your land of light and honeybees

But you are far too high above

To hear my silent pleas

Still, I gaze you from afar

While you soar as you please

With my eyes wide open

As the gentle breeze
