"DOCTOR!" Anne-Marie screamed the second he walked through the door. Anne-Marie flung herself into his arms and continued to cry. "He's gone!" She wailed. "He's just a baby! Why would they take my baby!" Anne-Marie shouted clutching the fabric of his jacket.
"I don't know Anne-Marie but we'll find him. We'll find our son." The Doctor relied calmly. Anne-Marie continued to cry though and didn't answer him. As much as she loved the Doctor, she might just love Connor a tiny bit more.
When Anne-Marie was finally calm enough to tell him what had happened, they were sitting in the living room the remodeled together and a kettle was on the stove. The Doctor had insisted on making tea for whatever reason. Anne-Marie would have smiled and laughed at him if it had been under different circumstances.
"When did they come?" The Doctor asked lightly.
"Early this morning." Anne-Marie whispered as she began to recount to the Doctor what had happened.
Anne-Marie woke up in the early dawn hours to something unusual. Connor was crying, but that wasn't the unusual part. Connor would cry, abruptly stop, like he had been distracted, before starting up again a minute or two later.
Anne-Marie ran a hand through her hair and wished the Doctor was here. The man never seemed to be able to sleep and he was always the first one in Connor's room when he woke up crying. That was before Anne-Marie sent him away. She was beginning to regret that decision.
Getting up out of bed, Anne-Marie slowly made her way to Connors room. Sleepily, she pushed open the door to Connors nursery and got a shock. Standing in the corner was a creature she had never seen before. The figure was tall, wearing a suit and had long abnormal hands. The skin on its face dropped over its small eyes, like it was encasing them and then everything seemed to be pulled together where his mouth should have been.
Anne-Marie didn't know what to make of it. Anne-Marie glanced down at Connor. He was staring at her and smiling but when he followed the direction of her eyes, and stared at the creature, he cried. Slowly, Anne-Marie walked toward the crib and picked up Connor because she knew what the creature was. The Silence.
She had seen them in the Doctor's memory with Amy and Rory and River. You could only remember them, when you were looking at them, and that's what Anne-Marie intended to do. Slowly, she backed up, careful to keep Connors face hidden from the Silence. He was the reason he was crying off and on.
"I know what you are." Anne-Marie said slowly. "Your kind has been exterminated all across this planet." She swallowed hard. "I don't know what you want with me, or my baby but I want you to leave. Now, before I kill you because I will kill you. Make no mistake."
"Oh I have no doubt Mrs. Anne-Marie." Anne-Marie gasped and turned around as a voice spoke up behind her. She completely forgot about the Silence. Blinking rapidly, Anne-Marie stared at the man in front of her. He was wearing all black and had some sort of eyepatch over his left eye.
"Who are you?" Anne-Marie demanded. "Get out of my house! My husband will be home any minute." Anne-Marie shouted at the man firmly.
"Oh I no all about your husband, the Doctor." Anne-Marie blinked, taken back. "And believe me when I tell you this, he will come too late." The man yanked Connor from her arms. Anne-Marie cried out as he did and three more men with eyepatches appeared with one of the Silence right behind them.
"What are you doing!" Anne-Marie demanded, lunging for Connor, but the first eyepatches man handed him off to a second. "No!" Anne-Marie screamed, trying to chase after him, but the man walked down the hallway and turned into the living room. Connor cried as he was taken away. "Give me back my baby!" Anne-Marie screamed. Something pricked her neck. "Ow!" She cried out touching her neck as the needle was removed. Anne-Marie slowly slumped to the ground.
