"Hey mum" George said quietly walking into his moms room

"Hi George honey, how are you doing?" Lily sat up in bed.

"I'm doing alright, how about you mum?" George opened his moms blinds a little so a bit of light can seep through.

George turned around to face his mother who was pale as ever. Since she was still on medicine and wasn't eating much all she was skin and bones. But that's what cancer does to you. He remembers when his mom had hair, it was the same color as George's, it was fluffy, soft, and wavy. Now she has non of that because of the chemotherapy.

Lily shrugged at look down at her hands "I'm the same as always George. In pain. I just want to rest."

"I know mum I know you do."

Lily sighed and looked back up at George "have you finished our song?"

"Nope, I can't just do it by myself I need you right here by my side. I need your help to finish it with me."

"I wish I can honey but I can barley get out of bed now" George frowned

"Have you ate?" Lily shook her head no and George sighed

They sat in silence for a moment "Tell me good news, I don't want to be sad all day."

"Well I have an interview coming up!"

"Oh how exciting George! When is it?"

"Next week"

"Well I'm very excited for you George!" Lily smiled brightly "and what about Dream?"

"What about him?"

"Have you figured out your feelings for him?"

"I don't like him mum!" George said giggling a bit

"Now don't lie to me George Davidson, I've seen the way you look at him."

"Mum I don't like him. Besides it's too early to have a relationship. I'm kind of scared to be in one again."

"I understand George. You're just not understanding your feelings for Dream. You don't have to date someone if you like them. He will probably be willing to wait for you. But all I want you to do is understand your feelings for him. Tell me honey what do you feel around him?"

"At some points when I'm with him I'm not sure how to act and lose all my cool," lily laughed but let George continue "nor can I even keep my pride intact."

"George you like him."

George laughed "I don't mum, my feelings for him are not romantic I swear. When I'm around him I'm not gasping for air."

"Yet" lily mumbled but George didn't hear

"I want him to be with me... just not so near. I'm just not ready for hand holding right now. But then again when I'm around him my head feels like it's exploding." Lily eyes widened and you can see a spark of light shine in them "it's not love I swear!"

Lily rolled her eyes and began to speak, "so you think it just might be despair."

"I don't know anymore. I want to not like him."

"You're in denial, give it time George. Like I said before you just gotten yourself out of a toxic relationship. Give yourself time and when you find out tell him how you feel."

George and his mom talked more to each other. He just wanted to spend time with his mom and listen to her talk because he and her both know she won't be here very long. They sunk in every moment they had together. Not wasting it at all.
