"Nervous?" I asked Luke as he ran his hand through his hair for the sixth time since we'd been in line. Luke shook his head and bit his lip, clear signs that he was nervous.

"What would I have to be nervous about?" He asked, looking down at me with those beautiful blue eyes.

"Me." Luke laughed lightly and shrugged but didn't deny it. I trailed my eyes down the length of his body before setting my sights on his hand. Looking straightforward again, up at the menu, I grabbed his hand and laced our fingers together. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Luke blush as he nervously glanced down at our hands. He ran his free hand, the left one, through his hair again.

"What are you getting?" He asked, effortlessly pulling his wallet out of his back pocket with one hand.

"Are you going to order for me?" I teased him. Luke shrugged.

"Yeah if you want. I'm already paying, why not order for you as well." I hit his arm with my free hand.

"You don't actually have to pay for me Luke. I was teasing you over text." Luke arched a blond eyebrow at me and bit his bottom lip.

"I can't tell when you're teasing or when you're being serious." I shrugged.

"It's a problem I have. Just order whatever you want, I'll order whatever I want and we'll pay separately. No big deal. I'm used to paying for my own things anyways." Luke bit his lip again, like he didn't know what to say.

"What are you getting?" He asked. I glanced back up at the menu.

"Oh, I usually just get the grilled cheese they have here. It's simple enough but whatever they put in it is soo good." I said, emphasizing so. Luke nodded.

"Come here often?" I laughed, loudly, and Luke blushed when he realized it sounded like a pickup line.

"Yeah, I do. It's close to work and like I said, they make awesome grilled cheese." Luke grinned. We stepped up to the register.

"Two grilled cheese sandwiches, and two lemonades please." I squeezed his hand a bit painfully.

"Luke." I hissed as he pulled out his money. I told him not to pay. I could pay. I had money. Probably more than he had. He shook his head at me as he passed over the twenty dollar bill. Rolling my eyes, I grabbed the bag of chips off the rack nearby and threw that down to. "Alright hot shot." I said lifting myself up to kiss his cheek. His face turned as red as my lipstick.

We sat down at a table by the window eating. The chips were cool ranch Doritos, not my favorite so I don't know why I grabbed them but they were Luke's favorite so I let him eat all of it. He did pay for everything after all. The look on his face when he bit into the sandwich was probably the cutest thing I had ever seen.

"You look delighted." I said, laughing.

"Yeah what is in this?" Luke demanded, opening up the sandwich.

"I can never figure it out. I think there's just three different types of cheese in it." I replied, continuing to bite into the crunchy bread. Luke nodded and costed his sandwich. "So did your roommate bug you when you got home?" Luke looked surprised as I asked this.

"I told you about my roommate?" He said a bit nervously. I nodded.

"Yeah, you called him and I quote "A real dick". So what's up with him?" Luke shrugged and smiled slightly.

"Michael's not really a dick he's sort of just.. Really nosy. Well not nosy he just likes knowing things. Especially if it concerns a girl and me. He thinks I don't have a life."

"You kind of don't have a life." Luke rolled his eyes at me. Guess he's better at telling if I'm teasing him than he thinks. "Have you written anything lately?" Luke shrugged and said nothing. "So do I take that as a maybe? Come on, tell me." I said touching his arm. I was generally interested which surprised me. I was never interested in anything or anyone really. That's why I like one night stands. There's no work involved in learning about a person.
