The sunlight streaming through the window wasn't what woke me up. I was already awake. My face was still flushed and I wasn't sure if it was because I was naked next to Luke, who was also naked or because of the events that transpired last night. I glanced at him then. He was lying on his stomach, arms wrapped around one of my pillows. I could see the planes of his back and shoulders and wondered if he was cold. I slowly placed my comforter over him. I was a cover hog. I should have warned him.
I sat up, running a hand through my tangled hair. I held the sheet up over my chest for god knows whatever reason. I've never been embarrassed about my body in front of a guy before. Luke was the first. Maybe it was because he didn't look at me with lust, like most guys did. He looked at me like he was in love.
That's what scared me.
Not because he was in love with me but because I thought I was too which was completely insane and ridiculous. We'd known each other two weeks. This wasn't love. This was a fling. A passing phase. It's not that I didn't like Luke, I really did. It's just that, from my experience, relationships don't last long and they never end well.
Standing up, I began heading for my drawer, leaving the sheet behind me. He was asleep anyways. He wouldn't see me getting changed. Now that I was thinking about it though. I kind of wanted to take a shower. "Morning." A tired husky voice called out. Jumping, I turned around to look at Luke using the shirt I had pulled from my drawer to cover myself slightly. He grinned madly.
"Hello." I said, trying to smile as well. He was sitting up, rubbing his eyes and staring at me. But not at me, at me. He was actually looking at my face, into my eyes. This would be easier if he wasn't so.. Gentlemanly. "You scared me."
"What? Like I wasn't here when you woke up?" I shrugged. As Luke threw off the covers, exposing himself. I turned back around. It would also be easier if he didn't look good in all the right places. I could feel my cheeks warming up.
"Do you want to take a shower?" I asked him.
"Um I don't know." He replied, I saw him shrug slightly from the mirror attached to my dresser.
"You can. Hold on, I think some of my brothers clothes are lying around somewhere.." I murmured. "I don't know if they're you're style though." I explained to him as I rifled through my drawers. Mike has slept over at my apartment on several occasions and he's very bad at taking everything he's brought with him. I usually wash them and give them back to him whenever I can. "Here we go." I said triumphantly, pulling out a muscle tee, some faded jeans and even some underwear of his. "You don't have to wear the underwear." I said, making a face. Luke laughed as he stood up and walked towards me.
"Yeah no, that'd be a bit weird." He said shaking his head. "I could just wear what I wore here." He suggested. "Not like they got dirty. They were off for most of the night." He winks and I'm so shocked I hit his arm and gasp.
"Luke!" I exclaim. It was such an out of character comment but I love it. "Whatever. Wear what you want." I said rolling my eyes at him and shoving the clothes into his open arms. Luke laughed as I continued to gather my things. "Do you want to go first babe?" I asked him, my back still turned to him.
"Why don't we go together. Save water." I glanced up at him and he was smirking.
"Are you even Luke Hemmings anymore?" I asked, touching his arm lightly. "Where's all this attitude coming from?" Luke shrugged, smiling. "Well, I like it but I'm drawing the line about showering with me. No matter how nice it sounds." I said, leaning in and kissing him. The fabric from the clothing he was holding rubbed against the skin of my stomach. "I'll see you in a bit." I murmured, pulling back.
"Okay Camilla." He whispered. I shivered, remembering the last time he said my name. "You look beautiful today." He said as I turned around. I rolled my eyes and went into the bathroom. I put my stuff down and grabbed an extra towel from the rack nearby. I opened the door again and tossed it out to Luke, who had turned to look at me. "Cover up. Nobody wants to see that." I told him. Luke grinned.
"Clearly you did!" He called out as I closed the door again. I was glad for the doors and walls so he couldn't see how red I was.
When I got out of the shower, Luke was in the kitchen cooking eggs. I smiled so wide I thought my face might break in two. "Making breakfast?" I asked Luke glanced up, nodding his head. He had one hand on his waist as he shifted the eggs around in the pan. The towel I gave him was wrapped securely around his waist.
"Hope you don't mind." He said sheepishly. There was the Luke I knew.
"I don't. I love it." I said, walking up to him and kissing his cheek. "I'll finish this. The shower is all yours. I only have girly soap and shampoo though. Don't know if you want to use that." I told him. Luke wrapped his arms around my middle as I stood at the stove with the spatula in my hands. He kissed my wet hair.
"I don't mind." He said, drifting away as he finished his sentence. "Be right out. Those should be done soon." He calls back to me, grabbing his clothes and heading for the bathroom.
"I know they are Luke." I told him. Luke smirked and shook his head, closing the door to the bathroom behind him. I sighed in relief. I liked seeing him naked but it made me flustered and he knew that, which was worse.
I busied myself with making breakfast. I poured orange juice, fried bacon, toasted bread had finished the eggs Luke had started. I was so caught up in what I was doing I hadn't even noticed he had come out of the shower until he said something.
"God you're beautiful." I jumped in surprise. Luke was leaning against my fridge, arms crossed and smiling wide.
"Are you gonna just stand there and stare at the merchandise or are you going to help me?" I asked in a joking manner. I can't handle it when he looks at me like that. Luke rolls his eyes as he grabs up the two plate of eggs and walks over to the toaster, putting a slice on each of the plates before grabbing the salt and pepper and utensils. "You're going to drop something." I tell him.
"No I won't." He replies, rolling his eyes. I watch him carefully and it's weird, I don't remember him being so agile. He places the forks on the plates and walks them back towards me where I place the bacon strips on them.
"I'll laugh at you if you do." I sing out to him as he heads for the living room. He makes a face at me as I turn off the heat and place the spatula in the sink.
"Well I didn't." He says in the same singing tone. I laugh as he sets everything down on the coffee table perfectly.
"I can see that." I say walking up to him, carrying the glasses of juice. I hand him one and say, "A toast." Lifting my glass a bit higher in the air. Luke arches an eyebrow, trying to to laugh.
"A toast to what?" He asks.
"Great sex." He laughs and I smirk as we clink glasses.
"And many more to come." Luke says, leaning down to kiss me. All I can taste is oranges.
"And many, many more to come." I murmur. Luke laughs at me and then we sit down on the couch, eat breakfast and watch TV.
